Panthers asking for loud crowd via Twitter

Going to a game and taking it all in, is really something people need to appreciate first hand. Maybe some people have and still don't? I will agree that there are pros and cons to both. At the game, you have to wait in line to pee, sink in traffic for two hours after the game, etc. BUT if the Panthers are win and we make a few great plays, you'd have to be a tool to say watching the game at home is better that not only experiencing but literally feeling complete pandemonium.

A good sports bar like let's say downtown Charlotte and packed with Panthers fans? OK, maybe you have a slight argument but still nothing beats being surrounded with thousands of other passionate fans who are all screaming and yelling out of pure joy. You can try to replicate it with surround sound and a big flat screen but it is not the game. It's like watching your favorite band perform on TV. Go see them live and tell me the TV concert is still doing it for you! That feeling of electricity is not something you can capture in your living room. It's something you have to be a part of.

Case in the point, the World Series tonight. I can only imagine what it would have felt like to be at Fenway or even outside Fenway, with thousands loosing their s***.

I've been to a few Panther games, the '96 playoff game against Dallas was a great experience. I sat in the upper deck close to the 50 yard line, remember Aikman's interception at the end of the game to seal the deal for the Panthers. I remember the place going crazy and feeling like the team was unstoppable if even for a week!

That being said, when your team loses while in attendance at the same game... that really sucks.  I went to the Cardinals game when Jake had the worst game of his life.  That game, sitting in the rain on hard plastic chairs... OK, maybe I'd rather have watched Jake screw up from the comfort of my home! haha

Then the following year, I made it back to Charlotte to watch game one against the Eagles. We lost that too. Not to mention, I live in Richmond so when we loose, it's a looooong drive home. :)

Still, when things go well... nothing beats witnessing greatness in person. I think more and more fans are turning to TV over buying tickets because they can't afford to go to a game. If you stay away from something long enough, you sometimes forget what you miss about it. I think that is what is happening to many of the modern day NFL fans who only watch games on TV.

I wish I could give this post infinite pie.

lol man you really need to find a better source for tickets.

I disagree about getting more out of tv. The broadcast focuses on one player at a time. snap the ball, zoom in on qb... what the actual fug? The only good from tv is that you discover players you've never seen before, like Donald LaFell and Stevie Smith.

I'll agree that you see the whole field in person. Television does focus on certain players in particular and parts of the field only. You dont get to see what the secondary are doing in coverage or which receiver is open and not.

but, really I just prefer watching it from my couch: it's FREE!

The point is, just bc one watches from home does not make that person any less of a fan than one who attend a game. "KELP" is an idiot.

I agree. On TV you can't even see routes develop. Or a QB miss a wide open receiver while keeping his eyes locked on one side of the field.

You can't see the way the linebackers read the plays. Or the emotion on the sideline.

With that attitude... Maybe you staying at home is best.

As a fan you come to the games for the teams sake, not your own.  You clearly worry more about yourself than supporting the team.

So please stay at home.

You're right, it doesn't make you less of a fan.

However, I suspect most people bitching about fan support at the games are doing exactly that ... sitting on the couch.  If not, they went to a game in 2009 and claim they will never go back because somebody told them to sit down.  Lame.

If you want a professional football game to have a collegiate atmosphere, you're doing it wrong because they are two different worlds.  I got to Williams-Brice for the collegiate atmosphere, I go to BOA for a professional atmosphere...although it can get sedate but I kinda enjoy not having a 20 year old puke on three rows because they thought downing a fifth of Jack while walking into the stadium was a good idea to show how much of a badass they are.

@Panthers: QB Cam Newton wants #Panthers fans to GET LOUD on Sunday! Are you ready? http://t.co/XYZqBGwvei

Instead of appealing to us to make noise, maybe they should address the losers that sit on their ass and complain when real fans stand and yell.

The fans(not)that complain about petty stuff and call security over nothing are the ones that need to be escorted out, that is all!

I like going to the game to watch live football and enjoy it from a perspective I don't get on tv. I have reay great seats and can see plays develop. Drunk idiots swaying around, slurring profanities and spilling bud lite ruin that experience. Same with hysterical lunatics who want me to scream constantly.

Why should I have to suffer?

Said the whine and cheese couple!
