Panthers asking for loud crowd via Twitter

I've seen other people sitting and not cheering wildly, but no one has ever given me a hard time for standing up in front of them and cheering or beating on the seat in front of me...provided they weren't sitting in it at the time. You're supposed to cheer on defense, and after a score or big play, not the entire game, and you're not supposed to do the fuging wave on offense. I've sat all over the stadium and never had a bad experience with an older, more sedate fan. I think some of you just need something to bitch about.

FWIW, I don't want to have a stadium like the Jets or the Eagles. I like that people can feel safe bringing their kids to a game. I've been in some scuffles at several games and after it was over and I realized I'd let it come to blows, or close to it, over a football game I wasn't even playing in, I felt really silly, and lucky no one got seriously hurt or thrown out/in jail.

You've been lucky.  I stopped going to games because I literally had people telling me to sit down every game.  The example I used earlier was based on real events.  I was standing and cheering after a play.  Some fat slob sitting a few rows behind was yelling at me to sit down.  The worst part is that the guy had on a Giants shirt, and the Giants weren't even there playing!!!!  I turned around and told him no, I will not sit down.  He called security.  They told me to sit down or leave.  If I want to sit down, I'll stay home on my fuggin couch (which is what I've done since 2009).

I would love it if our fans were as passionate as Jets or Eagles fans.  I'm sick of the polo t-shirt douche bags and their dumb ass kids showing up in the 2nd quarter and leaving after an hour when the kid runs out of food to ram down his throat.

I get what he means. Live at the stadium with friends or family there can be distractions, plus its more visual, there is lots to see.

At home I can be watching it alone and totally focused. I can't eat im so nervous with every drive. Im on the edge of my recliner, I don't want "her" coming near me to even ask the score. Its scary intense, I think she really thinks im gonna snap one day.

This, here my man is what I'm talking about.

When I watch the Panthers, it's me, myself, and I only.

I've seen it...  but usually only in the lower levels.  I've never been asked to sit down in the upper deck, but I have been (for simply standing and cheering during a big play while completely sober, wasn't even having one beer) asked to sit down in the lower decks.

A lot of the people down there are there for the social aspects of a game... they don't really care much for the game itself or the Panthers.   These are the same people that leave with 10 minutes left in the 4th no matter the score to beat traffic.

1. Set DVR to record the game.

2. Go to game (why do you need $150 tickets?)

3. ???

4. Profit!

I'm not wasting $30-50 to sit on row 30 of the 500 level. I've never experience it before and I do not want to. Having a 20/20 vision I still have enough trouble trying to watch the game from the lower level already.

T.V. gives you a lot more than watching it live, unless you're just that fortunate to watch it from the sideline. I dont get to see the emotions on the player's faces like I would do on t.v.

After going to a college game (in my case Virginia Tech games) it's really hard to get excited about the stadium atmosphere.  There truly is a ton of non-fans at BofA.  The Vic card crap is annoying, the music blows (maybe it's better now though), and people don't get to their seats before the start of the 1st quarter which really embarrasses me as a fan.  You can be a diehard fan from your couch, and I don't really blame people for not going.  However, if you do go, don't tell people to sit down, come on.  If you told someone to sit down at a VT game you may get punched.

Nope.  I don't drink, so I was not intoxicated and being a jack ass.  I was standing and cheering.  That's it.  I have a 6 year old (that I leave at home) so I'm even respectful enough to not curse.  Maybe it's because I'm 6'4" and 280 pounds.  When I stand up the people behind me can't see.  I get that.  But, maybe they need to get the fugg up too!  Like I said... stay at home if you want to sit in your seat the whole time and watch the game.

My point is this: Cheering a play, even on defense, might last 60 seconds, tops. You're telling me that you were told by someone to sit down while cheering for a play, or after a play, for a reasonable amount of time, and that when you told them you wouldn't sit down, you continued to stand until someone from security had time to leave wherever they were, find you, listen to the fan's complaint and tell you to sit down or leave? It just doesn't add up. That or you had terribly bad luck that one time and encountered a lightning fast, irrational security staffer.

Going to Panther games has always just felt different than other venues I have been to. In many environments people go to the game in order to be part of the atmosphere and to let lose and enjoy the day. Many times it feels like our fans are approaching it like it's a play or comedy show in that the crowd is waiting to respond. It's just different.

I've been to other venues as well, and my experience has been different from yours.

Agree 1000%. A lot happens away from the play and on the sidelines that is missed when you only watch on tv. The games seem to go much faster when watching in person. There's is no way somebody could appreciate the atmosphere at the Rams game a couple weeks ago without being present.

Here's the answer ... go to the game and have a great time. You don't have to spend $150. Plenty of tickets for $50 from the local scalpers. Tivo the game and watch it during the week when you get downtime. That way you can FF through the same commercials over and over and over again.

When the Panthers are doing good and the game matters, BOA rocks. I remember playoff games against Dallas and MNF vs the 49ers (back in the day) ... you could not understand the people sitting next to you because it was so loud. Great times and more to come!

You made a good point about the Rams game. It's one thing to watch it from home but unless you were there to see the crowd respond its different. When Cam ran around to get the crowd pumped up that's the loudest I've heard BOA in a long time.

With that said anyone else notice that the crowd gets louder for tshirts than they do for the game?

lol man you really need to find a better source for tickets.

I disagree about getting more out of tv. The broadcast focuses on one player at a time. snap the ball, zoom in on qb... what the actual fug? The only good from tv is that you discover players you've never seen before, like Donald LaFell and Stevie Smith.
