When he was here he was my favorite player... but I kind of soured on him after the whole deal with him wanting to leave like he did.

Why not. Time has healed my wounds from him leaving. I was honestly more upset with Hurney for letting him walk without us getting any compensation other than a compensatory pick.

In my opinion, you bring in older vets largely to provide stability and leadership. Leadership was never Julius' forte.

Pep is one of the best players the Panthers have ever had.  It would be great to bring him back home.  He's not been very productive this year so I don't know how much PT he would get.  But good for the rotation.

If he's truly gone after this season would he be a good/cheap alternative to Hardy (if we aren't able to sign him)?

people wanted him to a certain type of leader...and he just isn't wired to be that.

 

if you listen to Charles Johnson talk about him.....he was a good influence.  That said, you bring in old dogs when you are young and inexperienced at a position.  That isn't the case with our DE group.  We don't need what he offers.

If I heard him say it was a mistake to leave Carolina and he wanted to finish his career where he started, I'd say WELCOME BACK.  Otherwise, shove off.
