Bobcats tv rights

They have screwed up the tv rights. For the few fans that actually do want to see them, we can't.

Which is bull$hit.

I had charter before. The guide on charter always showed the game was on sport south but it was never on. I'm guessing mainly bc the arena is named after time warner and they have the tv rights. Countless years I have not been able to watch them play.

I switched up this year and got dish network with that hopper junk. During the pre season the games hae been showing up on the guide. But once again it's not showing the game. Said it's not available in my area. So how the hell the gonna blackout every game. I mean damn it's so aggravating considering they don't offer time warner cable here. So what the hell am I suppose to do.

I don't see how u can alienate half your damn fanbase like that. Especially with guys like me who actually wanna see the games. I just think they made a lot of mistakes with this franchise. This is a big one.

Anyone else have these problems with dish?

Where do you live? I had a similar issue with directTV. But as I understand it, it has to do with the providers, not the Bobcats.

If you live outside of 90 miles from Charlotte the providers have to pay a fee to the NBA in order to broadcast Bobcats games. Since our rating are dismal within the state some providers won't pay the additional cost.

What happens is it completely prevents you from ever watching a Bobcats game.

I learned that the hard way when Direct TV was blocking the games so I spent 300 bucks on the NBA league pass only to have it blocked there as well because I was still in the local market.

I left Direct TV who I had been happy with otherwise specifically because of that.

I refused to get TWC so I got ATT U-Verse and it has been great and I get every game here in Raleigh

I live in lincolnton. It's approximately 37 miles from where I live to charlotte.

It's very frustrating being a big fan and not even being able to watch a team that I should be able to watch. Tonight's game will come on. It will show up on tv but be blacked out. Wtf. Guess I have to find some steams that break up constantly.

Is there anything I can do teeray. I mean like i said time warner dosent offer it's services here( which is crazy) so I have no clue what to do. Out of all the years I hae been a fan. I've only watch 4 games on an actual televised channel. That was the playoff series with the magic

Here is the deal Chubs. This has nothing to do with the Bobcats organization there is an issue with providers.

Dish Network reached an impasse with Fox Sports in 2010 that has yet to be resolved so they black out games. It has been 3 years so it doesn't look good.

Charter was having the same issue for 5 years but finally this off season Charter and Fox worked out an agreement so 70 games will be shown by Charter this year.

DirectTV should carry every game in your area.

And ATT Uverse will have every game.

I am not sure where you are in your Dish contract, but sometimes competing providers will help you pay an early termination fee if you switch.

U Verse does not have contracts.

Hope this helps

You're not gonna believe this, but I live in Myrtle Beach and they block out the cats here.

Like I'm gonna drive 4 hours on a weeknight and 4 hours back to watch a game.

I went through this last year.  Couldn't believe it when I signed up for League Pass just to

watch Charlotte and they were blacked out.  I canceled.

Call the team, was told it was the cable providers fault.  Called the cable provider who said it

Fox Sports South fault.

I called Fox who blamed the Cable provider AND the team.

Someone was lying.  Anyway, I don't get to watch and become more of a fan.

Do you have direct TV or Dish?

If you live in or near Charlotte you should be okay unless you have Dish. Although Charter is only showing 70 games.

I have ATT Uverse which outside some earlier issues with hardware has been awesome.

Just a couple of days ago the games weren't even showing up in the channel guide (it is shown on an alternate channel that is off air except for Bobcats games) I got nervous and called them to make sure I would still get it.

They said they show Bobcats games in all of the Carolinas. I assume that means SC as well.

Sure enough, yesterday it showed up in the guide so I should be good.

I live in Raleigh.

I made this same thread pretty much every year until last season. I live outside of Raleigh and have DirecTV. Never could see the games. Even started seeing them on thd guide, but then they were blacked out.

Then I tweeted Steve Martin, our play by play guy, and he contacted the provider for me and a bunch of other guys and every game started showing up. I needed a new pair of pants. It was awesome. If I was you, and there's no guarantees it will work, tweet steve with your zip and your provider and see what he can do.

    • Karlaftis and Danna have been pretty inconsistent so teams have been doubling Jones and able to contain their pass rush.   But the good thing is that yesterday, we schemed well against Steve Spags Defense, Canales married the surrounding personnel with his QB through play designs within his comfort zone and was able to get downfield at will.  He was able to execute higher difficulty throws and look a lot more comfortable.  It tells me that Canales has a good system in mind, and had an edge gameplanning wise against Spagnuolo - which is nice to see.  It's a bit to see-saw at times with either going way too pass heavy or way too run heavy, but I think he's finding out what works.  It takes time to have it come together, and sure, I could see regression happen against a better front-7, but this was good for the entire system gelling.
    • This was evident first two weeks of season. I don’t see any issues with physical tools since he came back. I think he is a player that must play with confidence to overcome those size limitations and he’s doing that.
    • Still 3-10 on passes over 15 yards.  At least he's not scared to merely attempt them anymore.  Where I see improvement is the 10-15 yard range.  He was 6-6.  Bryce of old was scatter shot on anything beyond 10 yards and the further out, the worse the accuracy.
