IMO, Gettleman still wants to see what Rivera is made of.  He's watched all the tape from the last two years.  He knows how many late game collapses we've had.  He remembers the first three weeks of this season.  A guy with his experience in the league isn't going to be blinded by a 3 game winning streak against marginal at best competition.  I'm excited about the way we're playing, but let's not get carried away and act like we've been beating contenders.  I think Gettleman has assembled a roster that he's comfortable with and he feels can make a legit run at playoff contention.  I don't see him trading picks for players at this point when I think he's still evaluating the staff.  No reason to give up picks that may not fit into the new coach's plans if Gettleman decides Rivera is not his guy going forward.

Seattle's cap is gonna be fun in a couple years if they keep doing this nonsense.

That's what I was kind of thinking.  I mean, they've been doing a bit of drunken sailor spending and they're gonna have to shell out some big money for Russell Wilson, Richard Sherman, and Earl Thomas in a couple of years.

All three of those guys are going to be paid among the elite at their respective positions.

Rotoworld tweeted out that the GMen don't plan on moving Nicks. After the win on Sunday I had a feeling this would be the case. The GMen are alive for the NFC Least division crown.

Yep, everyone talks about how horrible the Giants have been, but that entire division is hot garbage.  A .500 record very well might win that division this year.  Hell, it's not unthinkable in the least that 7-9 might take it.

Which is weird. Their nucleus is young.

There not going to be able to afford to keep all these guys in a couple years. Tirico and Gruden talked about this yesterday on MNF. There best chance to win a Super Bowl will be between now and next couple years. After that they'll lose alot of these guys to teams offering them big contracts.

The reason they are in a hurry is that many of their core group which are producing will be ending their rookie contracts at the same time. Once they pay huge contracts to guys like Wilson, they won't be able to keep everyone together so the team will change big time.  If they want to win with this group they need to do while they are still all there on rookie contracts.

    • Hope Koch recovers (he’s stated numerous times he doesn’t like to be called “koochie”) soon. But he does not instill confidence in the crease. I don’t have any confidence in any of our goalies, healthy or not. Andersen when available gives us the best chance to win but he’s never available.    Team has to explore trade options soon.
    • Respectfully, I completely disagree. Last year we were:  32nd in Sacks. 32nd in Turnovers.  32nd in Rushing TDs allowed  29th in Scoring.  We were absolutely atrocious on defense last year and that was with a full stable of weapons in Derek Brown, Frankie Luvu and Brian Burns that played all 17 games.  Using yards per game as a metric to guage our success lacks the context that because our offense was so inept teams were not driving the length of the field, they were starting at their 40-50 yard line.  This year, our Defense ranks:  31st in Sacks. Tied for 19th in Turnovers  31st in Rushing TDs allowed 32nd in Scoring  His defense fails to get pressure, fails to turn the ball over and fails to stop the run. Three things you absolutely have to do to be successful in the NFL.  Denver meanwhile has not missed a beat without him.  If another team wants to hire him as a HC and the Panthers get two 3rds for it I'll wish him the best and pack his bags myself.
