Trade Deadline is TODAY

Making the trade sounds like a great idea right now, but don't forget what you are passing on. I would support giving up a draft pick for Gordon, but you never know what draftable player you are giving up.

Bringing in a new guy at this stage is questionable. We still need wins and consistentcy. A new player learning a new scheme is not going to be consistent. Would a Gordon over Lafell work immediately? Only one way to find out. All I am saying is that it is not as crystal clear as it seems to sign a guy like Gordon or Nicks.

Seattle's cap is gonna be fun in a couple years if they keep doing this nonsense.

A good portion of their vet deals were 2-3 year types so they'd be off the books when it comes time to take care of some of their own.

Also, Rapaport has slowed the roll of the Seattle/Allen talk since the Hawks have 3M in room and Allen is owed 7M for the rest of the year.

As for Allen going somewhere else, the Vikings have added DE Justin Trattou to their roster today.

Schefter: Seattle and Minnesota may be at it again - this time Jared Allen might be going West. There is also another team pursuing Allen.

Contrary to what is out there Seattle is NOT one of the teams in it for Jared Allen. Two others but Seattle is not talking to Vikes for him

Unless he restructures, there are only 10 places that can take on Alllen's contract.

BUF, CAR, CIN, CLE, GB, JAX, MIA, PHI, TB, TEN

And out of those, I think you can immediately eliminate us, Jacksonville, and Tampa Bay.  We're set at DE and the other two teams are in complete rebuild mode - or should be - and won't be interested in acquiring a big money aging vet.

The teams that usually go for a player like Allen are contenders who think that guy is the one piece who can put them over the top to win a Super Bowl.  The only teams on this list that really fit that mold are Green Bay and Cincinnatti.  I'm not familiar enough with either to know if they'd be interested, but it doesn't seem like a move that would fit the Packers' model.

I don't understand you guys logic of adding a great young player to the team... Whats to lose for us? Yeah he has to learn the scheme but any player will have to do that.. If I was on the team and I heard we were going to get a hot new WR I would be stoked and make a big push for the playoffs. That would get me hyped about the season knowing we want it. Carolina is so conservative it HURTS. The new age teams are who are going to win rings in the future.. and sadly Carolina is stuck with the old men and old times. There is no Justin Blackmons in this years draft.. go out and get us a WR

I wonder what the Falcons are asking for Tony Gonzalez?

They need to trade him back to the Chiefs.

Mike Evans is NOT on calvins level, dare to say not on josh gordons level

Evan is going to be a prospect that should strongly be considered by the Panthers when it's draft time. Dude can run, is a big target, and has excelled playing with a mobile QB that likes to throw on the run. Not saying he'll be some stud like Calvin, and I certainly can make a case for drafting an OL first, but Evans is a strong candidate for a panthers draft choice. He'd fit in here.

Fred Davis anyone. I've been reading that the redskins really want to trade him or might even cut him if they don't. 2te set would help us

Davis would be a good fit here. Another security blanket for Cam that would complement the change in offensive philosophy nicely. I would be in a big favor of this move.

I don't believe any report until I see it on sportscenter.

This makes me think you are a 17 year old kid

Hahaha, now ESPN has retracted and claims Adam Schefter is reporting basically Jay Glazer had previously reported.. Lol

Glazer was the first to report the Beason to NYG trade and Shefter never had a clue or posted anything about it until everyone else had already known about it.

ESPN is entertainment sports new... There is a difference..

Glazer was not the first to report the Beason trade. It was a guy for some Charlotte radio station.

By report I mean report to a big audience... I had actually heard it was first reported Beason was headed to NY by some lady that does celebrity news in North Carolina somewhere..

Glazer was the first credible football source to officially break the news from what I had read that night.

    • Yes.  And this converts directly to confidence.  Does the coach have confidence to call a deep dig or seam route?  Does Bryce have confidence in his ability to be the Alpha?  Do his teammates have confidence.  About film--when I see Cam Newton's pre-snap confidence vs. Bryce's, it is night and day.   Film--tells you if the WRs are open (why l love watching the Replay telecasts from the end zone cameras--you can see it.  I have seen 2 WRs open and Bryce's eyes are on the outlet WR or the pass rush. )  You can see progressions, and he has improved a bit--but he is very quick to rush through 1 and 2 and checkdown--that is a lack of confidence in his ability to read the defense.  I had a former NFL TE (Deems Maye) who played QB in high school (not sure about college) tell me that the best QBs read the defense by knowing where everyone will be when the ball is to arrive--not where they are.  I think his QB at the time was Humphries.  He said that Humphries would throw the ball into coverage before the cuts etc.  because he understood DB momentum, zone areas, etc.  and he could just see it.  Said so when people say nobody was open, they are usually right because nobody should be "open" when the QB has the ball--when the ball arrives, everyone should be open.  He said Humphries was never "great" but his skills were limited--from a small school--but his ability to read a defense made him never give up on a route.
