Domenik Hixon?

Hixon's one catch against Tampa came right after Ginn's big drop on the deep pass.  It was a message to Ted Ginn.  Hixon is just on the team as insurance.

It might not have happened for this reason, but Ginn DID go on and catch the next 5 passes for 80 yards after his drop.

Making Hixon the "man, at least I'm not THAT guy" of the offense.

This is why we can't have nice things.

We have a winning record for first time in years. You want to abandon what has gotten us there so we can get 2 WR's on the field we just picked up off wavers a  week ago.

Give Hixon a chance to get integrated before deciding to cut him. He missed a lot of time with injury, he's just getting back.

How many times do we even go 4 wide with the running game being so productive. Were about to get 28 back too.

You wanna go back to pass happy and abandon the run game and give up TOP, go follow Chud and his 3-5 Browns

Hixon was supposed to come in and immediately step up as the #3 WR. Or possibly even push Lafell.

Right now it looks nothing more than an awful signing.

I don't see it that way, because Ginn has come in and pushed Lafell in ways nobody expected.  Hixon hasn't had a chance in the regular season because Ginn is playing so well.  If Ginn had followed up his drop on Sunday with more, we might have seen more Hixon.

Instead, Ginn responded by fighting like I've never seen him fight (I actually think he was starting to play too hard and a bit reckless trying to make up for it).  Ginn is doing what very few expected: Showing up to catch the damn ball.

There's just no room for Hixon, and while it could be he was an awful signing, it could also be at this point there just aren't enough balls to go around.

It's more than just that, Hixon has barely been healthy since he got here.

We lucked out with Ginn, I don't think anyone expected him to perform as well as he has so far. He was low risk, high reward. Hixon was likely signed because of the Giants connection, and at this point all the more reason to stay far away from former Giants receivers.

You have a point on Hixon's health, but i think he was a decent pickup, and I think he could still perform if given the chance.

but if Ginn and Lafell continue playing like they have been he just won't be given that chance.

we gotta open up the offense! We only scored 30+ points per game! We need more! Shula suckz! We gotta forget what we do well and pass it 65 times per game so the Huddlers will be happy!

He's not even close to being a decent pickup at this point.

With Lafell being on and off, and us having basically nobody besides Smitty and Olsen, Hixon has been in prime position to step up and take someone's job. He hasn't, not even in the slightest. Tell me if you think one more receiving threat right now wouldn't help our offense.

I'm just as thrilled with Ginn so far as anyone else. But like I said, we could still use another good target out there, and Hixon isn't it. He's just wasting a roster spot right now. We took a chance on him with a one year contract, and got the exact opposite of Ted Ginn this year.

The thing is, I expected Hixon to be a #3.  We ended up with someone else in that spot that won it through improving his own play, so it's hard for me to consider the pickup that bad right now, because it looked god at the time and though he hasn't produced yet, we were hoping for production from him we've gotten from someone else (and arguably a lot more).

When Chud was here Carolina didnt run many 4wrs set let alone a 5wrs set.

With the rostor we have 3wrs and a TE is all the passing opions we need, and add in FB in the flats they set.

Also Hixon is a injury away from seeing play time, Carolina only had 4wrs till the last 2 weeks. Not a waste of a spot or would you want the new guys on the field right away?
