One small area Cam can improve in

Some of you seriously want perfection from Cam, don't you?! Maybe if you fix your O-line, those #s will change.  Some of those QBs have time to knit sweaters before the pocket collapses around them. As soon as Cam gets the ball the it seems like the Panther O-line collapses around him. That is a problem. As a matter of fact, during Thursday's game between the Panthers and Bucs, their QB was sitting in that pocket for quite a while before some of the Panther Defense got to him.

You fans are funny. You want the best from Cam but don't give a fug how the rest of the team is operating around him. Nice way to burn out your QB.

Of course he will get scrutiny he is the qb and accounts for 80% of our offense coupled with he is still developing. There may be some Cam haters on the board but most just realize as Cam goes the Panthers go. Cam does need to get rid of the ball sooner and Getttlemen needs to be smart enough to upgrade the OL and WR corp. It is a process and justifies being discussed

If you dont strive for perfection why even try.  Yes most realise Cam wont be perfect but it doesnt mean he shouldnt try too.  Just like my job I know Im not perfect but I try my best to be perfect at my job.

I think you're taking this the wrong way. The OP is just pointing out an area of Cam's game that needs improvement. No one is saying Cam isn't playing out of his mind right now.

Is some of this the Oline? Absolutely, but take a look at the Arizona game. There were several times where Cam had enough time, but he chose to hold on to the ball and try and make a play instead of getting rid of it.

To be honest, this will be the next step in his evolution to being a complete QB. This season he's learned that a 4 yard completion is better than a 40 yard incompletion. Now he needs to learn that a incompletion is better than a sack.

Interesting stat sheet...my takeaway from it is exactly what the OP says. Cam is athletic enough to bail himself out of a sack and that is great, but there seems to be at least a couple times a game that the best option is the TA. He's going to learn that, and from a statistical standpoint it's going to make a big difference for him, the offense, and drive momentum.

Often what gets him in trouble is his confidence in his athleticism/escapability, which is certainly warranted. Sometimes he tries to take on defensive linemen when he should throw the ball away.

Agreed. When a player like Manning or Brady is about to get sacked, they tend to throw it away. When Cam is about to get sacked, he tries to escape. Sometimes it produces great results, other times it produces a sack. Which is why his sack numbers will likely always be higher than some. But so will his rushing numbers.
