Cam's Contract if the season ended today

Recommended Posts

Lets say the kid from FSU goes undefeated and beats Bama in the national title, then returns to school and goes undefeated again improving his already un godly stats.

The ONLY way I dont draft him is if I already have an elite QB ie Brady, Manning, Rodgers, or Brees.

Not saying id start him, but having him and Cam one of them are bound to be great.

Fug, then again a team would be ready to sell the entire farm to get him so I would prob have to accept that. But straight up no trades I am taking the FSU QB number 1 in the draft.

Can trade him during the season or next off season if need be.

Well when you put it like that...lol

But let's say, that along with that can't miss prospect from FSU, that's an undeniable talent coming out at corner or WR, the best since Deon or megaton... I take that player and roll with Cam since we know what Cam can do and that QB from FSU has yet to play an NFL snap...

A franchise QB can not have questions about his decision making. They must take care of the ball, make good decisions, read defenses, and close out close games.

All of those things Cam has struggled with throughout his career, which is expected as he is still relatively young.

Yes because brett favre, Eli manning, and Ben roethlisberger have NEVER made questionable decisions with the football.

That's taking a risk.

What if the qb looks awful in preseason?

If the fans know preseason means little to nothing i can assure you GM's and coaches do as well.

If he continues at his pace and wins a national title(s) with his size, arm, accuracy, and decision making he will be the most heralded QB to come out in a while. And that is saying something.

He is more dynamic than Luck. Bigger than RG3, and considered a more pocket passer than Cam was coming out.

GM's will be ready to sell the farm and future for this kid. 1 preseason wont change that.

I agree with the principle that Cam isn't elite yet (i say the only elites are Brady, Rodgers, Bree's, and Peyton), but he is definitely a franchise QB.

However, dash, your idea of drafting Winston in that situation is absurd. If he does put up those kind of stats, he will obviously go #1 overall. You're suggesting we would trade up to #1, take Winston, and then wait and see which one is better between him and Cam? Thank god you don't run an NFL team. You'd make Matt Millen look like Ozzie newsome.

Unless Cam and our entire defense gets hurt we won't be in a position to get Winston.

And we have Cam, if somehow we did have that pick I would trade down and rack up draft picks to build around Cam.

And no worries, if I have learned anything it is that the next "surefire can't miss best prospect in 20 years" comes out every 2-3 years.

I mean hell Luck was supposed to be the greatest QB prospect in the history of football and already people are saying that Winston may be an even better prospect.

You didnt read the scenario.

The other poster said IF we get the first, not trade up.

That would be absurd.

If we were to get the first, our team would need total retooling. Teams that get the first pick are train wrecks. Keeping two QBs on our roster would be the least of our worries.

That was hypothetical scenario. It will in no way happen .

What if trading down is not an option? You dont have an elite QB, and yet you are looking at the best QB prospect in the last 20 years. Would be foolish to draft another player. Let him and Cam battle it out for the starting job, then trade the loser for some nice picks and / or a great player.

If Winston is that good, then trading down would definitely be an option. The redskins just traded up to get bob.

These hypotheticals are stupid.

You would trade the player that lost the QB battle for numerous high picks and / or a top upcoming player.
