Do we have a true #1 WR?

Fans need to realize that if we end up in the 20s in the draft, we won't be able to draft a WR with elite talent.

Depending on who is picking in front of us. Lord knows we won't trade up for one, so we'll end up drafting a cb in the first and another in the 2nd. This is a draft to get you a wr. It's going to pain me to watch San Fran or Seattle trade in front of us and snag one.

Really- ATL fans say it's Roddy. Stats agree in 2012 http://espn.go.com/nfl/team/stats/_/name/atl/year/2012

Bears- Marshall has less yards than Alshon, despite more targets. http://espn.go.com/nfl/team/stats/_/name/chi/chicago-bears

Houston- I thought DeAndre had more targets and catches

Point being, you don't necessarily need a true 1 if you have capable guys and a QB who can spread the ball around.

thats because those #1's are such a threat and a danger to score that they take up the attention of most of the defense. #1 demand a cb and a saftey. this allows for easier catches and forced targets for the #2 and other recievers

4 receivers with 700 yards > 1 with 1400 yards

only one undefeated team right now; their leading receiver? Their running back.

In new england, eddelman might get 1000 yards, but they are spreading the ball around for the most part

The taints just alternate screen passes between sproles and graham

denver is on pace to have four 1000 yard receivers

Seattle spreads the ball between three receivers

Green bay's offense comes from four receivers

the only team in contention for a ring who uses the old #1 wr formula is san fran - though Davis and bouldin both carry that passing game.

What we're doing (spreading the ball) is working for us and super bowl contenders. Enjoy being with the curb instead of behind for once.

Smith is finally showing his decline the last 2 years, but he is still a 'capable' WR1. He is still a danger with the ball in his hands, but I think he is becoming less dangerous against the better CB1s in the league.

He still has 3 more years at least as a good playmaker, but I think the time has come for us to draft a tall fast WR1 to take on the opposing CB1, and move Smith to the slot where he is most dangerous and matches up well against more LBs and CB2s.

The better CBs flat out shut him down now
