Do we have a true #1 WR?

How about this......one..two or three...just catch the damn ball.Next season we inject the offense with upgraded weapons.Running game and shorter routes seems to be our M.O. this year and don't change if it's working.Send Ginn long once and while to keep them honest and hope he catches more then he drops.

To explain it in a extreme analogy: If Rice and Moss were both on the same team and one had higher stats, is the other not a #1 WR? Perhaps not in the terms of targeting , but the fact would remain that they are both true # 1s. HOU,ATL etc have two high tier WRs which is so much more than we have. Not all spreading offenses are on the same tier.

Folks on here really trying to discredit Julio Jones? That dude is a beast...before he got hurt, all Ryan had to do was throw it up and there was a good chance Jones was going to come down with it.  He is definitely on a different tier than any of our WR's, including Smith now. He is a 1, and will probably get better.

I would say Smith is still a number 1 because you can not cover him with just anyone. As long as defenses are forced to use their best defender or use double coverage on Smith he will continue to be a number 1 in my eyes.

What team is doubling 89?

Jones is scary....really scary once you factor in how young he is.

Wtf yeah discredit Jones, mmk. Jones is not as good a receiver as White was in his prime. I cant say it any other way than that. He's productive and he's great, but he's not as good as their other guy was and imo he will never be.

Julio isn't in his prime....the way he projects and as good as he has been....he certainly looks like he will be.

So the never will be.....seems to be wishful thinking since he plays in our division. He looks to be a different WR....different doesn't equate to lesser

And it is still going off the mark....how he compares as a young WR to White at his peak.....doesn't have much to do with the fact we don't have a 1. Juilio would easily step in here and be the 1.....since we don't have one

He will be most different like this. Same speed as White, same size, same hands, same nerves, same focus, not as good balance, whole offense has to run through him because they have nothing else now. Their best TE and RB are 80 yrs old and White isnt playing. Of course he's gonna look like a beast. He'll never be as good as White though and thats never as good as 89. Fine by me, bring it ATL, wishful thinking or not.

First, a healthy Jones is faster and quicker than White.

2nd Roddy White has had very spotty hands over his career

Injury is the biggest Jones concern.....and again, nothing outside of injury would suggest Jones won't be better IMO.

You seem to be overrating White and downplaying Jones

Shrug, I think youre doing the vice versa with Jones. Lets see how good Matty Lice is with no one to throw to on the sidelines on those 4th qtr comebacks.

There are a LOT of teams that would kill for our WR corp. atl. is not one of them, well was.

We have every piece you need to be successful. Obviously, cuz, you know...we are winning after all.

The rest is semantics, or conjecture.

Going off what we have seen. Can you not honestly say, hey, that's a pretty good team right there.

Most importantly of all? The fuging WTF? moments that have cost us drives, and games, have all but disappeared.

I know it's not much but we are 9-5, and on a 4 game winning streak. Without all the craziness going on to cost us games, where would we be?

We are on track. We are young, and still growing. We are a really good team. And are playing the football to back that up.

Gettlemen took a decent, you know, semantics, situation, and turned it around in less than 1/2 season.

With Cam back. We gots this.

Win at home. Split on the road. And we are in the playoffs.

Panthers already won, State and Cocks play at separate times for a change. The wife is gone all weekend. A Lions win will send it out with a splash. Hate those fuging cowpatties

Jones' 2nd season was what it was...great. He also did it banged up often.

He playing great again this year.

If he stays healthy, his ceiling is higher than what Roddy peaked at.

It will become an issue moving towards the future. We need a standout stud #1 and someone other than butterfingers LaFell to play the 2

Lafell catches everything with his forearms. Use your hands MFer.....I can't stand watching it..

not as much as you think actually, just like against the Bucs they keyed in on Smith but what do you do about the other 3-4 guys that are just as likely to make a play, outside of the seahawks there arent many Defenses that can defend 4 legit options note not saying legit in the slang term, I'm saying there is a good chance they could get a pass thrown their way every play.

you may be able to defend 1-2 people per game but you cant defend 5 especially when our running game is rolling, it's part of the Reason we've been blowing people out, our offense creates massive matchup problems all over, from the QB to the receivers to the Running game. and when you throw in a stout defense you can see why we are a tough out.

our biggest problem games this year was Seahawks because they had a DB good enough to defend us, and the Cards because of the drops, people forget in that game we were 1 whistle and 2 dropped passes away from blowing the wheels of the Cards at half time. and that was the issue.
