Do we have a true #1 WR?

Of course Steve Smith is the obvious answer, but a look at the numbers you will see it's pretty darn close amongst.....everyone.

Steve Smith- 32receptions 335yards

3tds

Brandon LaFell-21receptions 278yards 3tds

Ted Ginn-20receptions 357yards 2tds

Greg Olsen-30receptions 360yards 2tds

Smith leads in receptions

Greg Olsen leads in yards

It's a two way tie for tds

Ginn easily leads yards per with a 17.9avg

Nobody has really emerged as the definite #1. It seems like every game it's a different player that steps up or sometimes down.

This is also a good sign that shows Cam does indeed spread the ball around. These last few weeks he hasn't been forcing passes. He took a sack last night that was actually a good decision.

It will be interesting going forward seeing how we handle the Wr position with only Smith and Olsen under contract after this year.

It will become an issue moving towards the future. We need a standout stud #1 and someone other than butterfingers LaFell to play the 2

Lafell catches everything with his forearms. Use your hands MFer.....I can't stand watching it..

actually I like WR by committee better than #1 guy. you get alot of looks and things you can do.  Also its harder for a defense to zero in on 4 guys who can catch the ball then it is for them to shut down 1 guy.  Pick your poison WR Corp and I Love it.  GettleDawg gettin it done.

I think it is more Cam turning the corner.....Gettlemen did him no favors.

Cam needs a legit big play weapon

We have a winning freaking record!!! How bout we concentrate on that and enjoy it!

I won't care if we have PS quality guys starting at WR... As long as we win, why even start negative threads?

I'm sorry, but I think this fan base has fallen off its rocker. Above .500 and doing things that haven't been done since 1935... But let's debate who our #1 WR is???

C'MON MAN! Go Panthers! Let's keep the good times rolling!

Yea we have a winning record, we beat up on all the scrubs like we were suppose to. But there's no more cupcakes on that schedule, besides Tampa again. It's really not a negative thread. It's a thread pointing out a position group on this football team. Some can see it as a negative, others as a positive.

Sorry dude... Didn't mean to be negative or make it sound negative... And you are certainly entitled to post whatever you want. I think it's time for me to take a time out from the Huddle. It's somehow depressing around here being above .500

I like being in a good mood so, I'm gonna take a few days off from posting

Tbh... It doesn't matter if we have a #1 or not though. Win games and spread it around. I'd rather be unpredictable than go back to "shut Smitty down" win the game days... But that's just me.

    • i think i go in the opposite direction of most. my ideal retirement is living in some old downtown area in a flat above some shop or something.  life out in the country was just something i got real tired of. My kids actually miss some of living out there, which i understand. that was where they grew up for the most part. 40 acres with a 2.5 acre pond. it was beautiful, but also way too much (and too expensive) for me to keep up with.
    • FLASHBACK: I remember back when ESPN was just starting--he was their anchor.  They used to show stuff like Rodeo and field hockey--I remember laughing when he went to a commercial mocking a cycling competition in Utah (or something similar--I made that up) and I laughed.  I told my dad, "We may have us a new anchor when we get back from commercial."  When they came back from commercial, Berman was looking very serious and he said, "Any comments by me do not reflect the views of ESPN....The men and women who cycle are dedicated athletes and we are honored to shine light on their sport." (Paraphrasing).  Dad laughed hysterically. My first memory of him--and that was like 1980.
    • Might not have a team without them. Although that probably applies to the Panthers, too.
