Show me where I freaked out in my OP. I tried as hard as possible to make it absolutely clear that Im not worried or hating.

I wanted to hear some opinions on his game the last few weeks and you provided nothing. 3 pages, and you were the only one to completely misunderstand this thread.

I got you. But this is the huddle. You know, you can't talk negative or make it seem like you are. Fans will come after your throat. The only person you can do that to is Fua.

He did it last year. Why not this year. I'm not bashing him though.

Keek didn't have a good game last night and the rams game. He was stuffed pretty good by the full back last night on one play. A play that shouldn't have happened to the almighty Luke.

Kuechly still leads the NFL in tackles since the start of 2012.

Didn't have a good game?.....

We have a top 3 defense....I wonder who runs the show on the field....LOL. He does more than just run around blowing up offenses.

He's been awesome since the day he was drafted

For anyone who could possibly take this thread seriously (and I hope that even on the Huddle that's no one), there are a few reasons for Luke's current PERCEIVED change in play.  If you have any doubt or question the issue whatsoever, let's get this out of the way first: He's not even halfway through his sophomore year and EVERY player misses a tackle or is slow off a block on occasion.  This is somewhat amplified by the fact that he is so fast and rangy, and has such a nose for the ball, that he has a shot on tackles most guys would still be two or three yards away from, so yeah, sometimes he only gets an arm on the guy instead of a wrap.  If you saw the recent video where he was wired for sound, you'll note he was pissed at himself for "already missing two."

We all know there are teams that put a spy on QB's, but how often have you heard of an LB being targeted like that?  Well, it is happening with Luke.  If it isn't game planned, it's being called often at the line by the opposing QB.  You could hear it last night and saw the "spy" on Luke the previous game.  Another factor addressed by Rivera in his recent presser was that the front four is playing so well, and the secondary has so surprisingly stepped up, that there simply isn't as much work for Luke to do, or rather, not as much slack for him to pick up.  Therefore, his solo T's are down, and the need for him to assist finishing off isn't as great because others are finally getting "hit, grab, and wrap."  That hasn't stopped him though.  He still tied for the most total tackles last night, and even with these changes is 16th in the NFL for TT's and not too shabby numbers on PD's and INT's either.

Add to the above the additional duties of leading the defense.  If you watched the Sound Fx vid, you'll recall this is one busy young man, constantly pointing out assignments, correcting mistakes, keeping tempers in check, hounding the opposition with a good dose of trash talk, yet still finding the time to critique himself.  What more could anyone want out of an MLB, or ANY player for that matter?  Luke is more than playing just fine.  He's the lynchpin of our defense, and you'd better hope and pray that will be true for the next decade, at a minimum.

People look at Luke's stats and say he is having an off year.

He is not making as many tackles because the DLine is playing much better.  More stops at the LOS mean few tackles by your LB.

Now for last night, the announcers even said the playing field was crap.  Everyone was slipping.
