Does anyone else have an uneasy feeling about tonight?

i don't.

i can really see us taking them down like we did cam's rookie year.

we've got fire coming into this game and are just one night away from our first winning record since '08? that's not going to be lost on them.

we are playing controlled, but still dominant ball in really all three phases of the game. we have cut down on mistakes and we're playing a team that just keeps making mistakes.

we're a team that's really just starting to pull together and realize what they are capable of and we're playing a team that is coming apart at the seams.

we're a team that got swept last year by the team we're playing tonight, but we swept them the year before. we've always traded wins with them. i think we're trading years with them now.

i don't think we're going to come in with no sense of urgency or take this game lightly. i don't think anyone is. but i think the players are coming in with a level of earned confidence in themselves that they haven't had in several years and with a definite swagger about them. but it's not just that...these guys are hungry and in fight mode.

the bucs, on the other hand, are starving...and not in a good way. just because someone is starving doesn't make them dangerous to others. you starve too long and you get too weak to fend for yourself and i think the bucs are just now reaching that point.

we start off strong this game like we have recently, and we push that bucs team over the edge.

i'm not used to confidence in this team and i'll still be on shaky ground when we face good teams like the pats and 49ers, but this week and next...i'm feeling it. it's been so long i'm just going to enjoy it until they give me reason again to not have it.

And another thing, the bucs are a very bad matchup for us defensively.

Reason being, they have the ability to get pressure without bringing the blitz, being that McCoy is still playing on a pro-bowl level, and outside of the ATL game Bennett has had a great season. On top of that, they also have the secondary to bring pressure. Cam will see blitzes from the linebackers and if DaShon Goldson is playing alongside Barron and Revis...guys Cam could throw 3+ picks on this defense.

Offensively, they pose no threat and we will shut them down especially without Martin. Make no mistake about that.

I also do not think that if we win this game it will be proof that we are over the hump. This is a true trap game. It will either do nothing OR hurt us.

We win: "Oh great, you beat an 0-7 team"

We lose: Well, you know what comes after that. "Can Cam lead" "Rivera expected to be fired" "Panthers most inconsistent team in the league"

This game sucks.

It will certainly be a step in the right direction but 1 game wont erase 10 years of mind numbingly playing down to the level of bad teams. Arizona and Buffalo are recent examples.

I'd rather them have a healthy Martin than Jackson.

we can't stop garbage WRs when opposing QBs throw vertical on us.

Not at all. I understand people have this weird fetish where they think they have to spout cliched press conference lines so they don't mess with the juju of the team, but what it comes down to tonight is either the Panthers go out there and handle business as they are supposed to and win or Ron Rivera and Mike Shula clearly have no place here. It really is that cut and dry. If you can't beat a team like this, with the talent disparity and all the other extracurricular factors, then you have no place in this league.

We should beat them down.

Uh, we need this win regardless of the opposing teams record if we do lose this game which is possible the season won't be over even though we all will think it will be.

I think we actually show up like we're supposed to for a change worrying about it isn't going to make the out come any better or worse
