Local Tampa Radio Station erects "FIRE SCHIANO" Billboard

I hope they don't fire him.  Who knows, they could luck into a great coach next season that knows how to use their talent.  I don't want them to be a good team.

My hope is that Schiano's Men destroy that roster before he gets let go.  Freeman down, only a few more key players left and they'll be rebuilding for some time...

I can't help but remember all the folks here who were singing Schiano's praise and talking about how great he was going to be.  I think we all see how that is working out.  I would hate to be the team that helped him keep his job by losing to them this year.  We owe them from last year particularly the way we caved at home after having an 11 point lead with little time left.

Greg Schiano losing Tampa Bay Buccaneers with autocratic style

As the Bucs prepare to host the Carolina Panthers on NFL Network's "Thursday Night Football," it's abundantly clear that Schiano and the NFL is as poor a fit as Yasiel Puig and the NLCS, on so many levels. Most glaringly, the autocratic Schiano operates with an inherent deficit of respect, both for America's preeminent sports league and for the men he's trying to lead.

"How bad is it there? It's worse than you can imagine," says one NFL player who spent 2012 with the Bucs. "It's like being in Cuba."

One veteran NFL coach told me then: "It's his way or (expletive) you. He needs to back up a little bit, or he's going to have a very hard time in this league over the long haul."

I'm just saying be careful what you wish for.  I thought it was hilarious when the Saints fired Jim Haslett.  Then they hired Sean Payton....   <_<

Me too.  I thought they were in line for years more of Suck.  People forget too that Drew Brees was not even the most sought after free-agent that year.  He only ended up in New Orleans because Miami went with Daunte Culpepper instead of Brees.

Tampa is a talented team.  I don't think anyone could have done less with that team that Greg Schiano has.  Tampa is definitely in line for a top 10 and maybe top 5 pick.  It will be a desirable location for coaches looking.

I would otherwise lay pretty high odds on Schiano being fired tomorrow morning if we beat them soundly tonight, because it's a 10-day stretch to the next game.  But there's no obvious interim replacement on their staff (i.e. a former head coach or longtime NFL coordinator).  I still think it's pretty good odds--the players are obviously at the end of their rope, the atmosphere is poisonous, and there's no prospect it will get better.

i hope we fire all our jerseys after this game. bucs players probably have MRSA goo dripping out their pores

This. I hope that once the final whistle blows, Ron puts on a glove to shake Schiano's hand and then gets the team the hell out of there as fast as he can to the nearest fitness center bath or similar. Hell find a Roman style community bath or something. Just get the team to somewhere sanitary where they can wash up.
