Another view of Long ejection and Cam pumping up crowd.

Seems like they did. They are making efforts to train the crowd on when to get pumped up. For instance on 3rd downs they'll have a player like Luke or TD come on the big screens to tell everyone its third down and to get up and get loud.

Sadly though, the crowd is the loudest whenever they start throwing out the free t-shirts.

Another cool thing was when they announced on the PA that Smith's TD was his 800th career reception and he got a nice standing ovation for a few minutes.

Great post......

regarding the loudest when they start throwing the t-shirts...LOL... that is actually true.

and the players on the screen.....   I think we saw it once, maybe twice.  They NEED to do that more!!!

Yeah we don't have the greatest fans at games in general but it could be worse (see Jacksonville or Tampa).   But, what really gets to me is Sunday we were up 30-15 with about 3 minutes left, and the game was almost wrapped up but not yet decided.   I noticed on Tv that the stadium was already almost cleared out.   I don't know if its just me, but that really got under my skin.

I was there, noticed Cam pumping up the crowd but didn't notice the "magic helmet" LOL

I love it, this is the kind of "fight" this team has been lacking for a long time!

Football is nasty business, you have to play this game with a "DON'T F*CK WITH ME" attitude.

LMAO it is the loudest when they give out free shirts!

We need to make it where the opposing qb can't even hear his own voice on 3rd downs! I can't make it to the ATL game, but I imagine the PATs on MNF is gonna be one of  the loudest moments in BOA history.

Can't wait!!!

I commented on that as well in another post.  I've only been to one other game besides this Rams game and I've heard about the "wine and cheese" crowd but it didnt feel like that to me, it felt more like a high school football crowd.  Except, they didnt reserve a space for the opposing teams fans so they just mingled with everyone else.  Around the time the 4th quarter started I noticed the stadium felt about half full, even after all of the fights and great offensive playmaking by the Panthers.  I felt that there was no point in getting loud in my section during key third downs.  I was amazed at how many people got up and walked out near the 5 minute mark in the 4th, there was still plenty of time for the Panthers to throw the game away or to put up two more TDs.

For those who were there....did our crowd settle down once it was time to run a play?

Yes.  It wasn't really quiet, but for the most part the crowd quieted down enough to not distract the team on the field.

I was actually sitting at almost the exact spot at the camera angle, and it was honestly the most excited I've ever seen a crowd at BOA during a regular season game.  We were all going crazy and it was insanely loud.  That is the kind of emotion and "fight" from the team that I think we've all wanted to see for a while, and I believe the team realized just how much it pumped the crowd up.

From that point on, even without the fighting, the team seemed to be on a different emotional level.

As for the crowd leaving, that's something that's bugged me for years. When I was 16, I went to my first Panthers game and my cousin convinced me to leave early as the Panthers were losing to the Saints and the game was essentially over.  I'm not sure how it happened, but by the time we made it to the car, the game was over and we had one.  I promised myself that I'd never leave a game early again.

This past week, my friends all wanted to leave with about 3 minutes left, but guess who was the designated driver? This guy.  I do understand why people try to leave early, even if I don't agree with doing it.  It took us four hours to get back onto I-77.

    • After the Chiefs game a 6'5 X would really help in the Red zone. I would also love to add Slayton in FA
    • But again, you can restock a defense through free agency much easier than offensive skill positions. Spend all our cap space on defense, take a true elite prospect who also happens to fit a position of need in T-Mac, and then use the rest of our picks on defense. Again, every season there’s a smattering of great DL, LB, and DB options in free agency, a Top 10 WR never hits free agency, ever.  The only way you get one is through the draft or giving up 1st round picks in a trade for one. If he’s there when we’re on the clock, he has to be the pick, he’s just that good.
    • It must be an early Christmas for JT O'Sullivan having Thielen back so he could put a coal in Thielen's stocking every chance he gets.  Honestly, the biggest surprise is not so much the anticipation. There were those moments here and there last year as well. It's that even that one positive quality he had seemingly vanished his first two games to where it looked like it was all but over, only for it to start coming back some until you get exclamation points all over this game film. And some of those throws were under a lot of duress, something I feel is something new. Finally, those deeper shots are starting to land. Not all of them, but enough that defenses may have to start respecting them. No guarantees whether this will end up as more of anomaly but I certainly hope it isn't. The Green Bay game was a sampler of what BY could be. Against KC, we got a meal. If we could start getting these meals regularly, we might actually have something to work with here.
