the test scores certainly do mean something.  The questions are extremely basic kinds of stuff, like 'What day comes after Tuesday?'  If you score below a 10, that means you either:

1) don't care and just filled out the form without reading the questions

2) are as dumb as a post

I don't want either one on my team, as neither is coachable.  Talent doesn't mean jack if you're not working with the team.

Or have a fear of taking tests and/or are terrible at them.

Many players with bad wonderlic scores have been great players.  Many with amazing wonderlics have been mediocre and bad players.  Is Fitzpatrick the best QB in the league?

The positions where it truly matters is probably QB and O-line, where O-line is usually the smartest guys on the field.

Most questions on the test aren't even close to that simple.

The beginning questions are easy, but still involve some problem solving and critical thinking. As you move on, the test gets harder and harder. You have 12 minutes to complete 50 questions, with the last 10 or so being pretty difficult in a time crunch. With that being said, scoring under a 10 would mean that you either didn't take it seriously or are pretty dumb like you said. But I can't imagine that those questions translate to the NFL or an NFL playbook very well.

Source: I've taken it, got a 32.

Agreed that the score doesn't directly translate to the NFL.  A high score doesn't mean you'll be anything special on the field, but an egregiously low score does suggest something about your personality.  I have test anxiety, and did just fine on it.  I'm not going to buy test anxiety as an excuse for scoring below 10.

We are a team that does not develop WRs and is even worse at drafting them.   It's been over a decade since we struck oil with Steve Smith and since then, no one notable.   It's a risk worth taking.  A proven talent instead of a random 2nd/3rd rounder we'd end up taking that probably wouldn't pan out.  I think we're a playmaker on offense away from pushing this team over mediocrity.  He may need a change of scenery and team to get his act together.  It could allow us to 100% focus on o-line in the first (hopefully was already anyway, but this definitely lets you).

IMO this leaves out an important part of context. Gettleman has not drafted a WR yet. Yes, Hurney was awful at drafting WRs. But Gettleman may be better at finding young WR talent.

I mean, New York's receivers aren't too bad, and Gettleman played a role in finding them. Let's not be so quick to judge Gettleman's drafting ability with WRs.

Surprised so many against.  The only first round WR we've ever drafted is in prison.  We've used or sacrificed second round picks on Eric Shelton, Bruce Nelson, Armanti Edwards, etc.  Blackmon is a bonafide top 5 WR in this league.  If there's a chance (who knows) I am semi-shocked it's even a debate.  Would honestly be one of the happiest days of my fandom as we all (every team) wanted him BAD only a year ago.

Blackmon scored like a 7 on the wonderlic and if you've ever listened/watched an interview with him....I'm surprised that dude can tie his shoes.

Get over yourself dude. I'd take him in for our 2nd in a heartbeat. By the way he young and no where near the idiot and bad person you're making him out to be. Perhaps we should wait to see if L. Fitzgerald or C. Johnson will become available? By the way, take a look at this video about him:

    • You and I both know there isn't a coach we could or can still hire that can "fix" Bryce Young. Even at mighty Alabama with one of the best modern coaches in college football history Mac Jones was still a better QB than Bryce Young. Mac Jones.... We already know how you feel about Canales on a personal level so in that regard you wanting him fired is not news. You don't have to disguise it behind this shroud of rabble about not fixing Bryce Young. To his credit he somehow had us competive against the Chiefs and the Eagles on the road with #9. But no coaching staff can overcome their starting QB turning the ball over 4 times. We definitely have developed some of our younger offensive pieces. And as far as Evero goes he has earned criticism and if he's fired so be it but in his defense many of us said in the offseason this defensive roster was a disaster waiting to happen given the resources we spent on the offense while neglecting the defense. That was Dan Morgan's plan. He swung too hard toward offense to salvage the Bryce Young trade. That's on him. We can scream about XL all we want but at least he's actually been on the field for the most part. The Brooks pick was a luxury pick at the time and now it is a Hurney level blunder. Dan Morgan has gotten a lot of early praise here when in reality he's unequivocally deserving of significant criticism. But if you say that some people get up in arms because he's a former Panther. Big whoop. He has just as much to prove this upcoming season as Canales. That's why to me in my own personal opinion I say one more season and then if it's more of the same say goodbye to both.
    • It's a decent vid with compelling reasons for his opinion. But, my thing is is that you simply can't draft McMillan thinking he is a surefire WR1. There are questions. His 40---rightly or wrongly---will play a part. I'd think that his splits (which will speak more to his game translating to the pros in my mind) are more important.  As much as you're trying to sell us that McMillan is a don't-overthink-it-type-of-player, I wouldn't say that's the case. Workouts will play a part in all of this.  At this point, I like the thought of Tetairoa. That's as much as I can give you right now.
