Should Ron Rivera be fired!

I'm so tired of these threads. Give em a break

There are a lot of stupid and often repeated threads on the Huddle.  Like when someone runs in here to start another thread about how some analyst said something negative about Cam.

By your logic, it shoudl be added to one of the previous 20 threads on the same subject.

I also found this thread worthless...however, just read it, chuckle, and move on.

You have a 2 win team and hire a new HC

It that coach improves every year....why fire him

9-7 IMO should keep Ron here. If not, our FO is keeping our franchise in a hole. You keep Ron based on the fact he would be continuing to win more each year and his steady improvement on D and with Cam. HC change scraps all our progress......if RR has us 9-7 or better

It's a hard question.  I think he has to at LEAST go 8-8 or above.  If we lose that many games, they also need to have been competitive games against GOOD teams.  If we do something like lose to the Bucs twice, that has to factor in.

I'm not really a Rivera support but I can't deny that the team seems to play hard for him, regardless.  Not sure a Fox team would have played as hard for him the last couple years.

The more important question is, if we sneak in the playoffs do you extend him?

no.

you wait to see what happens next year.

job one, winning season and playoffs.

job two, back to back winning seasons.

if he can do both jobs he gets an extension. if he follows a winning season with another losing season, he gone.

Obviously winning cures all, but the way we are winning is why I am wavering about RR.  I've always wondered why owners spend hundreds of millions on players and scrimp on coaches and coaching staff and scouts.  There is no salary cap on coaches so go out and get the stars from top to bottom.

RR and coaches are actually doing their jobs and doing them well.  We are adjusting to the other side of the ball in between series.  Players are playing within the scheme and playing smart.  Maintaining that is going to be tough as we start facing stronger teams but I like the way we are going.

I've always respected RR but fed up with the WAY we were losing.  Too much stupid.  He is fixing that and deserves props so I for one don't really mind this thread.  Small price to pay for all the "Fire Rivera" threads we put up with after losses.

I think a lot of people have always seen RR in the light of a "players coach" but I don't think that is how it alwasy has been behind closed doors. About a week or so ago 89 was on the radio taking about the growth of the team and RR since he took over. Steve said that one thing about RR was you always knew where Ron was coming from, if RR didn't like you....you would know it and it rubbed a lot of guys on the team the wrong way. Steve went on to say that RR has worked on that and the team as a whole has repsonded well to it. That may be another reason things seem to be clicking now and the players are playing so hard.

I am of course paraphrasing all that but I found it intereseting because I am one of the people that always saw Ron as a players coach and apparently he wasn't.
