Cam haters, what you should have learned from the last 3 games

The issue is that "game manager" has come to have a negative connotation when referring to a QB.  Many now use to to describe a QB who does not have the skills to be elite.

I personally do not take it that way.  A game manager to me is a QB who utilizes all of the weapons he has.  One who is efficient with the ball and takes what the defense gives him.  One who does not need to take undue chances and turn the ball over....ie is smart with the ball.  One who relies on his defense to help him and realizes that he does not have to make big plays every time he touches the ball.

In short, a game manager to me is a QB who knows how to captain his team and efficiently deliver a win.

That is exactly what Cam has been over the past few games.....and that is definitely NOT a negative in my book.

If everyone had your definition it would be a no brainer but as you note that is not the context most people use when describing a game manager like Alex Smith or Phillip Rivers.  If guys like Wilson, RGIII, Kaepernick are not in that category then Cam isn't either.

Cam is a game manager because all he is ask to do is not screw it up...  throwing the ball 26 and 17 times in two games.

the point is.. carolina does better when cam is asked to do less......not a coincidence...FACT!!!!!!!!!!!

WHO ARE THESE "ELITE " WRs THAT GETS 60-70 YAC?? constantly? periodically?.. cause every wr can do that, you know?

We were up in most of those games. If it was back and forth he would have been ask to do more.

I really don't consider Rivers a game manager in the old definition of the word.  Guy has put up tons of yards and stats.

Why is everyone getting so worked up over a phrase?  Does it really matter.  As long as Cam leads us to victory, I don't give a rats ass what category people try and put him in.....and I guarantee you that Cam himself does not either.

Agree on winning.  I just think game manager is now almost used as an insult.

You are way off base on your analysis.

When a QB is throwing the ball less, that usually means that we are playing with a lead and the running game/defense is getting it done.  Games where the QB is slinging the ball around every game usually means we are behind and trying to catch up.

We got out to early leads in these games.  We then were able to utilize all of the weapons on the field....including the RB's.

That is NOT an indictment on Cam.....it is a good thing.
