Cam haters, what you should have learned from the last 3 games

top dawg

He has more offensive production than anyone in NFL history this far into a career......

that doesn't suggest he is a man asked to hand it off and not screw up.

yet.. all those 1-2-3 yard touchdowns could've went to the "over-paid" backfield...  either or...

that's what SOLD you on cam, huh? Total Tds.. you're a stat guy

Newton probably the most dangerous short yardage threat in NFL history. There is nothing like him. No scarier run or pass threat.

That is just one aspect.

Even if you take away his goaline work his production is still off the charts and still doesn't suggest game manager

Tom Brady is a game manager in reality.....he does it better than basically anyone outside other HOF caliber QBs

i'll never understand it.  the guy has blasted out touchdowns and yards from his first regular season game but we're supposed to believe he's trent dilfer and can't be trusted to do anything other than not turn the ball over and get us in to field goal range if we're lucky.

no... I'm saying why are you guys hyping cam like he's somebody to be recognized with..

he's not even top 10 material.......yet...

everybody on here wants to blame the whole team, coaches, what have you.. for cam's faults

Actually if you look at his passer rating he is 9th among all quarterbacks.  Few quarterbacks can put a team on their back and carry them.  Peyton, Brady, Brees and until recently Eli.  Most every other team needs everyone to contribute in order to win.  So everyone on the team should take an equal amount of blame when we lose and take an equal amount of praise when we win.

Most every quarterback has good and bad days.  Look at Brees. He had a 67 passer rating against Tampa and a 75 passer rating last week against NE.  They beat Tampa by 1 and lost to NE.  Should we blame their loss on Brees? Should we heap criticism on him because he has had 2 bad days?  If the answer is no then you have to give Newton a pass as well.  Honestly Newton has only had 2 games with passer rating below 90 similar to Brees.  If his one game against Arizona wasn't so bad where he recorded a 48, his passer rating would be equal or better than Brees.

Cam is not nearly as bad as you make him out to be.  He is clearly a top 10 quarterback.  he doesn't have the yards or the attempts but that is how we use him not his capacity.

Last year he actually scored several times in the fourth quarter only to have the defense blow it.  Plus I don't know how it is magic to come back in the fourth but we ignore that he gave us big leads in the first half. Sometimes quarterbacks have to perform magic to make up for a poor first half.  Cam on the other hand does great early as evidenced by us leading at halftime in every game this year.  Why doesn't that count for something?

Lets agree he isn't Brady or Manning or Brees.  That still leaves a lot of guys that he is better than given he has only been in the league for 2 years and 6 games and people said it would take him 2 years to even learn the pro game.  He surely is way ahead of that pace.

The issue is that "game manager" has come to have a negative connotation when referring to a QB.  Many now use to to describe a QB who does not have the skills to be elite.

I personally do not take it that way.  A game manager to me is a QB who utilizes all of the weapons he has.  One who is efficient with the ball and takes what the defense gives him.  One who does not need to take undue chances and turn the ball over....ie is smart with the ball.  One who relies on his defense to help him and realizes that he does not have to make big plays every time he touches the ball.

In short, a game manager to me is a QB who knows how to captain his team and efficiently deliver a win.

That is exactly what Cam has been over the past few games.....and that is definitely NOT a negative in my book.

Who is really.  Peyton look ordinary against Indy last Sunday and we all saw how Brady did against New York pressure in the Superbowls. If the only standard is carrying the whole team on his back then most every quarterbacks fails including Andrew Luck.
