Something I noticed about the toughest two game stretch on the schedule

Anyone know if Crabtree will be back by then?

Why does it matter? I hope he is. I want to see our team play the best of the 49ers in week 10. So no one in the NFL say we took on a 49ers team that without their star players and they was hurting without them. I want to see the 49ers at full strength when we play them. Show the NFL that we can play with the best of them. No excuses.

Tom Brady hasn't been so hot this year.  Even though he's lost some receivers he just hasn't been very Tom Brady-like other than that win they stole from the Saints.

His throws are off target way more than usual combined with the drops by his receivers.  The Pats are very beatable this year... Belichick coming off a bye is what worries me the most.  Same thing with Harbaugh.

They're both damn good coaches, so a bye is only going to help them.

It seems that San Fran is getting back on track as they have won several games in a row.  NE is a capable team in almost every situation.  These are going to be a couple of tough games.  We need to win the SF game more because it is a conference game and we need conference wins in order to hold the tie breaker in wild card situations.  If we could win one of these games, I think that would be an accomplishment.  Coming off a bye week doesn't necessarily give a team that big of an advantage.  I think SF would benefit from us traveling west in combination with their bye week.

Of the two teams, I feel like NE is weaker and more susceptible to what we do on defense.  Tom Brady can't scramble and doesn't move well outside the pocket.  Kaepernick is going to be more difficult to contain.  Also, SF has the better run game and relies on it more heavily as well.  Also, Brady has shown this year that when his offense isn't clicking, he will get frustrated and start blaming his teammates.  He can be rattled and we are just the defense to do it.

I think it is some serious BS that we receive a road game to AZ coming off our bye while the vast majority of teams get a home game after a bye.  It is kind of crappy that we play 3 teams coming off a bye, but we took down the Vikings when they had an extra week to prepare.

I think we will win one of the SF/NE games.  We need to beat SF, but I think our chances are better vs. NE.  Still, if we let the Patriots hang around in the 4th quarter, you can guarantee that TB put his team in position to win on the last drive.  I don't know if the same could be said of Colin K.

At this point we need to take it 1 game at a time. Lets see how we do against Tampa Thursday. Speculating against SF and NE is fine but premature. I like where we are headed right now and if we can win Thursday night and then beat Atlanta we will be on a 4 game winning streak and confident. Just how I would want to be going to SF. Personally if we could only win one of those games I would want it to be New England since it is a home game and I will be there. Plus I hate New England arrogant douches.

Still it way too early for that. Lets just see how Thursday goes. And hope no one gets MRSA. Sorry I couldn't help that.

Obviously it'd be great to win both of them, but SF is by far the more important of the two.  If we're still looking good at that time then they're one of the teams in the WC hunt with us.  Beating them would be huge.

Honestly our long clock-eating drives is probably one of the best formulas to beating that SF team.  If we can rattle Colin and force a few 3 & outs and TOs then put some points up after killing the hell out the clock he'll start pressing.  He hasn't looked particularly good when he gets in that situation from what I've seen.  He also has the most god-awful long wind-up throwing motion I've probably ever seen... hopefully we'll force at least one fumble.

We really just need to stop them from scoring early and immediately capitalize.

Not trying to look ahead too much, but I was looking at the schedule and BOTH the 49ers and Patriots will be coming off their bye week when they play the Panthers.  So in consecutive weeks, the Panthers will have to play the past two Superbowl runner-ups, well rested and with an extra week to game plan against Cam Newton and the Panthers.  If that's not the toughest two game stretch the Panthers have played in recent memory, I don't know what is.

If the Panthers win both of those games, they are legit Superbowl contenders.  I'm just hoping they can just win one of them to keep pace in the NFC.

you're a fan.  has no impact at all on the team if you look ahead.

I dont think that makes them legit super bowl contenders... Both of these teams are having down years. I know they have good records but people expect dominance from these 2 squads

Maybe these teams aren't playing as well as they have in recent memory but they are both extremely well coached teams that will be in the playoffs this year.  San Fran will be 6-2 after they beat JAX this week.  It's a winnable game because Carolina can stop the run but, the O-Line will have to give Cam time to throw to win.  The 49ers defense is better than Arizona's and it could be a long day for the offense.  I'd be very surprised if Carolina can pull out this tough road game.

New England plays the Dolphins and then the Steelers before their bye week.  That's actually a pretty tough two game stretch.  Both are desperate teams trying to save their seasons.  I could see New England losing one of those games.  But as I posted earlier, New England is historically awesome after their bye, losing only once after their bye week since 2003.  Also Tom Brady is 13-4 on Monday Night Football.  I know stats don't mean much but, it'll be another extremely tough game in a row for the Panthers.  This game will come down to Carolina's pass rush...if they can rattle Brady into making some mistakes, they have a chance to win.
