two different types of talent. you can't lump them in same group imo.

you saying "why waste time" like it's a definite is biased...maybe it wouldn't be a waste of time, maybe they could get him turned around, thats the point. If the panthers pulled the trigger on him i would believe they would get the guy the help he needs and surround him with good people, which we have on this team. the guy is an elite receiver. Imagine him with Cam. I'm usually one to say fug him he's immature. Gordon is just that talented that people are willing to still give him a shot.

but this is never ever going to happen. it's not our MO and i doubt the browns would take anything for him.

And maybe you give up a high pick for an idiot when you could have used that pick on someone more stable.

He's already shown he isn't terribly bright because he's in the 'one strike away' position already.

Not a smart investment.

I hear you but I can't control others from continuing to speak on it. This day and age you would think you could speak freely in a discussion. Your rules tho

Race has absolutely NOTHING to do with an individuals lack of maturity.

New England might still think they can get by with Amendola and Gronkowski (assuming they can keep them healthy for two games in a row).

Indy makes some sense given that Wayne was old anyway even before he was hurt. He could be good with Luck if he refrains from being a moron (which is a colossal gamble).

Hope he knows how to catch balls off the ground and overthrows.

Race? Absolutely not and that's not the point I was trying to portray. A persons surroundings in which they grew up absolutely has something to do with maturity. I don't know Josh Gordan's story so I can't speak on it, but growing up in certain situations can definitely impact you as a person. I can say that he seems to lack a strong father figure in his life otherwise you wouldn't see these issues. Which is why you give him the strong support and role models that he needs.

I really think this team needs to get over its holier than thou mentality. Sometimes you have to take risk take gambles. Football isn't choir practice, it's a controlled battle. I can almost promise you that if there ever is a battle between heavn and hell god wouldn't be sending pope john paul to the frontlines, he'd send josh gordon with a chainsaw.

Don't gimme the dumbass 'choir boy' straw man.

There are guys you take chances on, and guys you don't. One of the ones you don't is a guy who's shown himself to be a dumbass.

depends. you have a guy you know is majorly talented but personally flawed. you know this as fact.

or you draft a player who you think is talented and think is personally ok. you don't know this as fact.

that is the risk worth debating. you can deem it not a "smart investment". i call it a calculated risk. do you think you he has the ability to change? or do you think he will continue down that path. That is the debate. You chose your side but i'm open to it if the Panthers org believe they can get his poo together.

We're not talking about a guy who's a blank slate.

We're talking about a guy with a history of being a twit who's one more twittish act away from being suspended for at least four games, maybe a full year.

Explain to me why I spend a high pick on that guy when I could just as easily spend one on a kid who's just as talented and doesn't have the baggage.

Because Gordon would help this team this year and be the difference in making a legitimate run.

i don't think you comprehended what i just said in that post:

1. You know as a fact what you have in Gordon. Big time player but a bonehead.

2. You do NOT know as a fact who you have when you draft somebody. You may have an idea, but you don't know it as a fact.

That was the point i was trying to make. I'm not saying we should make this trade. I'm saying we should entertain the idea of it and look at the risk/reward. It seems like you didn't even read what I posted.
