Resorting to race again, huh?

You wanna get him help? Fine. I don't see paying him a buttload of money and resting part of my team's fortunes on him as conducive to 'rehab'.

I'd rather get a guy who has the talent minus the baggage. This is a football team, not the Betty Ford Clinic.

Is he not a young black kid? That's not resorting to race that's stating facts. You keep waiting around for the Choir boys. Look at Ray Lewis you would have cut him? He was an accessory to murder. This is the real world with real people with real problems. You have to take the good with the bad. Where you see the bad in a person and judge him based on his mistakes, I see the good and the potential to be great. People can and will change.

knock it off with the race thing. i see it mentioned again and you're gone, ok?

Wasn't meant to be race baiting. Painting the picture of his background to illustrate my point is all. I'm not a racist nor do I believe Mr. Scot to be. But different people can relate to different things.

i actually agree with this. it's a calculated risk. we have great character people on this team. I still don't know if i'd deal for him but it's not as simple as some people saying "oh he smokes weed and he makes millions, fug him." and the bolded part is qft. it's risky but could be a major, major reward or a major burn.

How'd that go with Dwayne Jarrett?

Why waste time on a guy you have to babysit when there will be guys next year that are just as good who don't have this baggage?

i don't care. it wasn't an issue and it wasn't brought up until you did. that detail wasn't necessary.

Pretty much. This is what the "WEED SHOULD BE LEGAL SO IT'S OKAY" crowd never seems to be capable of grasping.

The drug testing system in the NFL telegraphs so much that you juat about have to be an absolute moron to fail a drug test.

That's not someone I wanna throw several million dollars at and have my franchise's fates resting on his ability to not do something stupid.

There will be options with just as much talent - minus the baggage - available next year. Taking the risk on a guy like this isn't necessary.

I'm pretty sure most people get that but it's 2013 and there are still people who can't grasp why it should have been legal decades ago so I think this type of reaction is the result of focusing on something trivial still being held in contempt more so than what it says about the player.

granted it speaks towards someone's character who still gets busted.

I don't care that he's black.

I care a lot that he's a dumbass.

Would you like for us to pick Dwayne Jarrett up so we can give him a chance to redeem himself and reach his potential to be great?

For every Dwayne Jarrett you'll have a Dez Bryant. You can't just bring a guy in and turn him lose tho. You have to make the effort to turn the player around. You call it baby sitting but it can pay off for both parties in the long run. The patriots tried with Aaron Hernandez, it didn't work out for them in the long run but that's way left field stuff. I'm just of the mindset that in this business you have to take risks.

two different types of talent. you can't lump them in same group imo.

you saying "why waste time" like it's a definite is biased...maybe it wouldn't be a waste of time, maybe they could get him turned around, thats the point. If the panthers pulled the trigger on him i would believe they would get the guy the help he needs and surround him with good people, which we have on this team. the guy is an elite receiver. Imagine him with Cam. I'm usually one to say fug him he's immature. Gordon is just that talented that people are willing to still give him a shot.

but this is never ever going to happen. it's not our MO and i doubt the browns would take anything for him.

That's one instance it didn't workout only because he was bad. Even with a dwi he would still be here if he performed on the field.same situation with pacman he's been arrested 8 times since he's been in tbe league but he's still here because he can play.

I hear you but I can't control others from continuing to speak on it. This day and age you would think you could speak freely in a discussion. Your rules tho

it takes conversations down roads zod doesn't want in his forum.

can't say i blame him, esp. in a football forum.

I really think this team needs to get over its holier than thou mentality. Sometimes you have to take risk take gambles. Football isn't choir practice, it's a controlled battle. I can almost promise you that if there ever is a battle between heavn and hell god wouldn't be sending pope john paul to the frontlines, he'd send josh gordon with a chainsaw.

    • Start with Bryce, this is like his rookie year. The 1st 2 games proved her was wired wrong and it looks like (we hope) he needed a time out to reset and be the player that was drafted. He's still about a year or more away from being a top 15 QB, if the Panther give him another playmaker or 2 (a top WR and a decent TE) and maintain that line. Canales deserves credit as playing that card correctly to motivate (or refocus) his QB for one last shot to decide his and the Panthers immediate future. As a Panther fans we should hope he keeps improving as we invested so much to get him. CJ Stroud will never have a season like he had, even if he stays a top 10 QB. He's got great character so I'm rooting for Bryce to continue on his positive journey. Canales is playing the week to week thing with bryce perfectly. Nothings guaranteed, earn it weekly which builds consistency and consistency is greatness.  Keep the O-line. They've got to extend Brady C, along with Mayes that have a real good 7. Great job Morgan starting with the big guys upfront.  I really hope they draft a DE or OLB in the 1st round. Getting Brown back with A Robinson and what DJ has shown that we can have a decent D-line. Need a CB in the early rounds/ or a time FA to go with Horn.  The future as to next year being good enough to challenge for the division is within reach. Just show progress (win or lose) every week. Kudos to Dan Morgan. Plays GM like a LB. Tackle the problem and move on, don't just hope it works out. Find guys with your playing mentality and work closely with your HC to share a vision. Teamwork starts at the top and flows down.
    • Since we play the Panthers today and tmrw, we will have one gigantic double thread for both games. Today’s game is at 3pm and tmrw is 7pm.    After beating the Rangers and sending the those yankee bastards back to Cary, we get the Champs in the house.  Clean up the defense, no more lazy clears, and score baby score.  LFG CANES!
