This. Your dumb if you don't want him. Idgaf if he smokes weed it's damn near legal. Actually it is in a few states. He's a stud that will go to a contender and help them reach the Super Bowl while Panther fans sit back and say he's one strike away from missing a year. You can have 2 strikes in the bottom of the 9th you knock that motherfuger out the park game over.

It's not that he smokes weed.

It's that he gets paid millions to play a kid's game and he is on the verge of throwing it all away so he can get high.

He is immature and lacks a functioning brain.

Good franchises recognize talent and coach him up. Get good guys around him teach him how to be a man, how to do the right things. Put him on the Dez Bryant program if you have to but for god sakes get him on your football team.

Can you Imagine Smitty Lafell Ginn and Gordon on the field while Cam is in the shotgun then all of a sudden Olsen motions out wide. Now you have defenses scared.

Pretty much. This is what the "WEED SHOULD BE LEGAL SO IT'S OKAY" crowd never seems to be capable of grasping.

The drug testing system in the NFL telegraphs so much that you juat about have to be an absolute moron to fail a drug test.

That's not someone I wanna throw several million dollars at and have my franchise's fates resting on his ability to not do something stupid.

There will be options with just as much talent - minus the baggage - available next year. Taking the risk on a guy like this isn't necessary.

So you want the Panthers to put a nursery at BOA so they can babysit some idiot WR?

You probably have never puffed a fat one and wear your britches around your belly button. You focus in on "young black kid has been thrown a lot of money and he's blowing it by smoking weed what an idiot" your judging him without even knowing him. The fact that he's had the same problem dating back to college is a sign that he has a problem. People can and do get hooked on weed. Instead of focusing on the young man's short comings, how about focus on his god given ability and get him some help. Mentor him, become a positive influence in his life. Step outside the game of football for a minute because if you can help him resolve whatever it is that's making him make dumb decisions you might get yourself a heck of a football player and turn someone's life around in the process.

So yes it is just weed. He hasn't had a history of violence that I know of. He gets high so the fug what. Money doesn't make people want to stop smoking. It makes them want to smoke better poo. It's a lot of players sitting in the hall of game right now that had problems. Michael Irvin comes to mind. You don't give up on those guys or shun them because of fuging weed. That shows the flaws in your character and organization. A good organization knows how to turn guys like Josh Gordan around.

Whatever it takes to win football games. We have never had back to back seasons for a reason. We would never put up with a guy like Dez Bryant or Randy Moss, or Michael Irvin. Some if these guys grew up in the slums you don't know what they went through growing up or how that affects them today. What you do know is that they have talent. God forbid you provide them with a strong stable foundation for the first time in their life.

Resorting to race again, huh?

I've never hit a woman either. Would you suggest I try that before judging the guys who have?

"He gets high" is a problem because regardless of what your opinion about weed is, the NFL will suspend you for it. It's not that difficult a concept to get (except, apparently, for some).

You wanna get him help? Fine. I don't see paying him a buttload of money and resting part of my team's fortunes on him as conducive to 'rehab'.

I'd rather get a guy who has the talent minus the baggage. This is a football team, not the Betty Ford Clinic.

i actually agree with this. it's a calculated risk. we have great character people on this team. I still don't know if i'd deal for him but it's not as simple as some people saying "oh he smokes weed and he makes millions, fug him." and the bolded part is qft. it's risky but could be a major, major reward or a major burn.

Holy poo flying unicorn batman suit what's with the passive-aggressive race-baiting blatant racism.

Josh Gordon is a dumb ass, nobody cares that he is black. That is irrelevant to his stupidity

    • Start with Bryce, this is like his rookie year. The 1st 2 games proved her was wired wrong and it looks like (we hope) he needed a time out to reset and be the player that was drafted. He's still about a year or more away from being a top 15 QB, if the Panther give him another playmaker or 2 (a top WR and a decent TE) and maintain that line. Canales deserves credit as playing that card correctly to motivate (or refocus) his QB for one last shot to decide his and the Panthers immediate future. As a Panther fans we should hope he keeps improving as we invested so much to get him. CJ Stroud will never have a season like he had, even if he stays a top 10 QB. He's got great character so I'm rooting for Bryce to continue on his positive journey. Canales is playing the week to week thing with bryce perfectly. Nothings guaranteed, earn it weekly which builds consistency and consistency is greatness.  Keep the O-line. They've got to extend Brady C, along with Mayes that have a real good 7. Great job Morgan starting with the big guys upfront.  I really hope they draft a DE or OLB in the 1st round. Getting Brown back with A Robinson and what DJ has shown that we can have a decent D-line. Need a CB in the early rounds/ or a time FA to go with Horn.  The future as to next year being good enough to challenge for the division is within reach. Just show progress (win or lose) every week. Kudos to Dan Morgan. Plays GM like a LB. Tackle the problem and move on, don't just hope it works out. Find guys with your playing mentality and work closely with your HC to share a vision. Teamwork starts at the top and flows down.
    • Since we play the Panthers today and tmrw, we will have one gigantic double thread for both games. Today’s game is at 3pm and tmrw is 7pm.    After beating the Rangers and sending the those yankee bastards back to Cary, we get the Champs in the house.  Clean up the defense, no more lazy clears, and score baby score.  LFG CANES!
