Thanks to the guys with the serious input.. Me and my family are very tight, so if they decide to move I'm with them. We run a family business, so I have to stay while my dad and brother check it out. So I thought it'd be good to hear some strangers opinions about the place. It's not like I'm going to base my enitre decision off of it.

Idk why my post turned out like it did, spacing wise. I truly pity those who are up here all day chasing pie. Get a life

i've been there once. lots of concrete and urbanization (from my brief glance) as well as oppressive heat (but 0% humidity, so a 100-degree day feels like it's in the 80's back here in NC.

that was my second time in AZ... the first time through i was driving across it in high school, through the northern part of the state. absolutely gorgeous. i would move out there in a heartbeat if i didn't have a strong network already established here. endless things to do outdoors and i love wide open spaces. hell i'd move to wyoming.

good luck with whatever you decide

Agree that the zero humidity does make it feel cooler.  However, you really have to be careful with that.  The perspiration is evaporating off your skin quickly which gives the feeling of being cooler.  However, you can EASILY overheat and have a heat stroke....it creeps up on you.

I played basketball at lunch (outside) one day there when I was in my 20's (on a training trip).  Had no issues while playing.  However, when we stopped we all had problems trying to cool down.  We ended up overheating and almost had to go to the hospital.

Now I know playing pickup ball at noon in Arizona is not smart.  But it does illustrate how dangerous zero humidity heat can be.
