Could you imagine what would be said around here if Newton had as many bad throws as Luck at the end of a big close game? Short hopping a throw and yhen sailing a short pass by ten feet (which Luck got bailed out on with a weak roughing call)

And yes Luck is really good. But so is Cam

The glaring thing in that game is the fact that Luck blew Reggie Wayne's ACL with his inaccuracy. Wayne has been making those bail out catches for Luck since Luck's rookie year. Finally it comes to bite him. Skip Bayless put it best by saying that Luck dink&dunk his way the entire night with not one completion pass 10 yards. Now we're starting to learn why the Colts keep the ball out of Luck's hand. Luck is a dangerous passer. Literally!

Sideline Woman:  "How did it feel last year coming in and replacing someone as great as Peyton Manning?"

 

Luck:  "I can't answer that.  I never looked at it as coming in and replacing anyone.  I looked at as I was joining a great team."

 

Post Game Interview:

 

Sideline Reporter:  "How does it feel to just beat Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos?"

 

Luck:  "I didn't do anything.  This was a total team effort.  The Defense really was the key in our win tonight."

 

Andrew Luck even went over and talked to Reggie Wayne to apologize the throw and to take the blame for his injury!

 

"After the game, a big part of me felt like it was a loss in a sense because of what happened to Reggie and my fault in it," Luck said, via the Colts' website.  Luck even said this during the Post Game interview on the field.

You're a Luck looney. Those TD passes didn't travel 10 yards in the air. They were results of YAC. You actually follow other player's interview. Damn! You know those guy are taught how to interview with the media, right? Keep it on the field, my man! And yes, he should apologize for blowing the guy's ACL. Had a big lead though, and the Colts have now beaten Seattle, San Fran, and Denver!!! I still think Denver is the best team in the AFC, even with the loss tonight, but the Colts are for real. You could make a good argument they are #1.

Luck is a bad looking dude. He has to be nice. Kind of like the kid with pimples all over their face. Unlike pretty boy Cam who have to practice being nice. If you're an ugly dude the last thing you want to be known as is nasty. Plus, Luck doesn't have much talent that wows people. He can be humble all he wants, he is still a low talent ugly dude with the same fate as Christian ponder, Schaub, Quinn, Alex Smith, Linart, etc. Damn, the list is endless.

Anyway, I must agree with what you posted.

 

I was watching NFLN this morning and as they went on endlessly about how "great Luck is at this point" in his football career, it started to feel real artificial. They then talked about how both Manning and Luck came from football pedegree and I realized why Luck became the "chosen qb." Those in the media want to continue the whole Pedegree QB with Luck and his father that they now have with the Mannings. It is more than obvious at this point. Luck's style of playing reminds me a lot of Dalton. As a matter of fact, I actually see Dalton as better.

 

Luck is that kid who gets that top job in the firm more because of who he knows and not so much that's he more qualified.

I agree with you about the status quo.

 

What I see the media doing with Luck is saying: here is what the next generation of QBs will really look like. He is already seen as a "traditional pocket passer" which keeps that image alive. They are also making him just as athletic as Cam, RG III and Russel Wilson. 

 

By morphing Luck into the image of the those who are tradtionally seen as "mobile QBs," and knowing those QBs will never ever been seen as real pocket passers, the media is creating the new image of future QBs in the NFL to satisfy those who consider themselves football purist, while weakening the argument that black qbs are more athletic and mobile. Luck is being made the future Peyton Manning because it's safe.
