Watkins or Evans?

Evans has Dwayne Jarret all over him. Too slow and not enough burst. I'd take Watkins 100 times out of 100 overs Evans. His skill set is perfect for college but he runs like Greg Olsen, unless he can put on 30 pounds and play tight end I don't want him.

To be fair, Jarrett's real problem seemed to be his desire and/or football iq not his speed. When the ball was thrown to him he made the catches, separation or no. The desire part is a tough one to catch before it's too late.

Either receiver would significantly upgrade this offense and allow Cam to grow with a stud weapon on the outside.

For me, I'd take either and be happy with the pick for different reasons.  I feel like Watkins will be the better pro, but Evans might be better for what we need.  Evans reminds me of Brandon Marshall, and Watkins reminds me of Reggie Wayne.  Either would be an asset to us.  Evans will catch the high throws from Cam and be that huge red zone target.  Watkins can line up everywhere, burn you with speed and YAC.

As much as we all want offense, I wouldn't be surprised if we end up taking a CB in the 1st round if we think he's the BPA.

I'd like if they took Ebron, he is a dual threat a TE and can also line up as a WR. Bring the 2TE set back.

Well 4.7 speed will not it as a wide receiver on this team. As a TE we could use him but he's just not big/strong enough to convince me his is anything other than a nightmare match up at the college level.

GIve me the top OT in the 1st and a guy like DeVante Parker in the second.   No use getting obsessed with the top 2 or 3 guys.... Seriously doubt we're in position to get them.

 

I genuinely believe that Gettlemen takes the best player-but if we draft for need, WR is at the top of the list.  Tackle is a mystery because we could re-sign Gross and Chandler is still developing--Bell too., but not fast enough.  If we need a RT in 2014, I think WR is the pick--if Watkins or Evans is on the board.

If not, Eric Ebron would not be a bad pick.  He is a complete TE--needs work on his blocking but he has shown that he can.   He can split out wide or move inside---imagine the match up nightmares if we had 2 fast, studly TEs who can block?   At 6/4 and 250 he runs a 4.65--not shabby.

 

Then you have Ginn and Lafell (re-signed) and Smitty, and you could wait until the second round to draft a RT or a WR like Jordan Matthews (Vandy) Parker (Louisville) or Moncrief (Miss).
