Ideal 1st Round Pick for Carolina [UPDATED]

I see Gettleman going best player of need on the board at the draft. Star slid down due to health concerns. We picked him due to our scouts doing their job and a huge need on the d-line. If a WR is there and he doesn't see an O-line player of equal value he will go with the best talent. I really think he works a deal for Nicks and goes O-line wiht the first two rounds. We also have and extra pick from the Giants on the Beason trade. Maybe give it back to the Giants

and some Booty for Nicks.

If he gets Nicks for a fair deal then I'll be thrilled. First round we grab a LT, and then move Gross to RT. That would be it for what we need on the o-line. Remember we have RG Williams, RG Kigbila, and LG Amini coming back next season, and we can sign Gross for another season for cheap. Also if Wharton continues to play well, then we can offer him another one year contract to back up Amini at LG.

Second round we can turn our attention to WR, DB, or whichever player is highest on our board.

how are we going to sign Gross cheap?

HIs restructure signals he is done.   I would also imagine a new coaching staff would turn off a guy off on the brink like Gross.

Name the last top tier #1 WR that wasn't ready to be a #1 by his sophomore season.

Football in general is changing, the development stage isn't as long as it was years ago.  Players of all positions come in more ready

Do you mean first round WR?  There are many.

I prefer a free agent WR (we will need more than one) and a developmental WR in the second.  That way, you don't have to wait another year.

If you need a LT and pass on one for a WR, you are making a mistake.

We could be picking 1 or we could be picking 32.  Wherever we pick, it needs to be BPA.  If positions grade out somewhat equally, I say OT, WR, TE in that order.  Jake Matthews would be a dream, but to get there it would likely mean more miserable episodes of ****ing the bed over the next 11 games.  A playoff run would be nice and let the chips fall where they may.

Yes sign him on the cheap, or not at all.

Gross is done? I wish a journalist would ask him if he might want to come back for another season.

I mean legit NFL player, that is a #1 in the NFL.  Name the last one that took 3 years to turn into a guy ready for the role.

Roleplaying WRs generally are the ones that take time to develop.  Studs tend to studs in today's NFL IMO

OT is my desired position. Still would like to solidify our CB position. And WR.

But at WR I don't want some speed demon. Of course speed is always welcome, but we need a hands guy. A guy who can use his body and catches everything.

If he has speed also great, but we keep wiffing on these fast WRs like Adams and Pilares, I just want that guy who is big and will go get the ball in traffic.
