Ideal 1st Round Pick for Carolina [UPDATED]

Don't Forget theres still Jordan Matthews. I'd take him if Benjamin Watkins Evans and Lee are gone

I think if the coaching staff is committed to getting WRs in this draft they could easily grab 2 top of the line ones in the first 3 rounds. If i were the GM I would go into this off season with the thought that the WR position must be fixed then in later year I could have the flexibility to play around with other positions. Pretty much the same approach Gettleman took for the DL.

Yeah deep class, we can get one in the 1st, cb 2nd, wr 3rd

True true but when you think about it, getting the top tier of a deep WR class is a huge addition.

I'm hoping we double tap or WR/receiving TEs but it doesn't have to be 1-2.

For the 1st: If Lee, Evans, Benjamin or S-J falls, go for one of them, maybe Matthews or a OT if not.  It's very early in the process though.

Outside of the first: Maybe like a Cooks, Landry, or Coleman

My ideal combo if possible would be Lee/Benjamin and Cooks.

I'll take 708 yards and 3 TDs as "MIA".  The guy broke out his freshmen year and was Clemon's only threat, so he got a ton of passes his way.  Last year Hopkins arrived on the scene and took alot of his touches away.  This doesn't mean that Watkins wasn't getting open, it just meant there were 2 threats on the field.  It's obvious now that Watkins can still dominate, considering his biggest game of the year so far was against Georgia.

Problem with Watkins is he can disappear for long stretches, he does have great physical talent though.  But I agree with OP, He's not tall enough, 6'1 allows you to compete, 6'5 allows you to be dominate, especially in the redzone.
