Thank God Tavon never made it to pick 14

He is getting pushed around.  As I said above.  If he doesn't put some weight on he's not going to make it.

And Smith is a rarity.  There aren't many receivers in history as tough as Smitty.    For what Smitty loses in height he gains in tenacity.  Not to mention his vertical is out of this world.    Smith is a bulldog is a pug body.

Welker 5'9" 185  took 4 seasons before he became relevant.

Jackson 5'10' 175  Tougher than most think.

Austin 5'8" 175  ?????   He seems to be playing soft.

Comparing Austin to Smitty is like comparing boys to men.

I will admit I liked him as an option in the draft but not over Star. He is clearly not turning out to be the player I thought he would be.

Imagine if ya'll got Robert Woods, from USC?  You'd have been called fools for reaching.  Mel Kiper would laugh for weeks.  McShay would scream and yell.  Etc.etc.etc...

I can't tell you how sad I was when I saw him go off the board to you guys. He was a pet favorite of mine. Was kinda hoping we would draft him.

However, I loved KK too, had him in my mock with Vaccaro in round 1. Just thought with Star falling into our laps we'd be looking heavily at either Allen or Woods. Turns out we passed on Allen anywho, so probably would have done the same if Woods was there too.

Im a sucker for the underdog so I hope you guys rebound and can compete with the Pats. And having lost a SB to those guys and with you guys losing all 4 of yours I can feel your pain as a fan.

Good Luck the rest of the season, hope Manuel returns healthy for you guys.

I loved Pusluzny when you guys draft him too, actually wanted him over Beason, How come you guys let him go to Jax a few years ago? Its funny how things work out tho, you got Kiko and we got Keek.

Isn't it a little too soon to start judging Tavon Austin? Let's not forget how bad of a season Alshon Jeffery had a year ago, and look at him now. Let's give the guy a little more time before we start crowning him as a bust.

A lot of has to do with playing in St Louis with a bad OC and an inconsistent QB, he's a highly talented kid who I think compares very favorably to DeSean Jackson.

It's foolish to make such a proclamation after 5 weeks.

Also, this.

Poz was good at cleaning up the tackles a few yards beyond the LOS.  Many, many fans did not like him.  He is a decent NFL level talent but far from elite.  He wanted too much money without the talent to back it up.  In Buffalo, we were switching from a 4-3 to a 3-4, Poz wanted to be in a 4-3, knowing he was not suited for 3-4.  His angles were a little off, some times, and he had crap for DL.  Kyle Williams is a beast, though he is getting years on him.  Four years ago he was among the best in the league, if not the best.  We've just had some real screwed up poo in Buffalo for a while.  Anyone who is a Bills fan now-a-days is a grouchy, sensative beaten soul.  The loss ya'll had against us earlier in the year is one we've seen many times in the last 5-6 years.  Dallas night game when McKelvin returned it and fumbled up early.  The NE games we lost in the last seconds thru mistakes or gifts - no joke, look up the "just give it to them" game.  The Pats were given a first they didn't earn and it changed the game.  The Ref was on Mic saying "just give it to them."

With years and years of crap on defense it was hard to warrant keeping any piece of it.

  • 3 weeks later...

Too much talent to not have an effect on the field.  I think the books not yet written on tavon austin.  Or Cordarelle Patterson for that matter.  However all said and done I am happy with Starr.  Especially considering that 3 weeks before the draft no one even considered he would make it to us.  After the Armanti Edwards, Everette Brown, etc dark years its good that the ball bounced our way on the draft picks.   WR, OT, OT in the upcomming draft and I will be happy happy.
