Gil Brandt: Hakeem Nicks to Panthers Make Sense

Two big name player trades rarely happen. When they do it's usually for picks. I just don't see this happening.

The other problem with this is obviously the contract at the end of the year. We're already cash strapped, and trying to re-sign Hardy. If you're Hakeem Nicks are you going to re-sign with us or go to an immediate contender like IDK the 49ers or god forbid the Pats.

We'd be over the moon for that trade, but their is no way the Giants would go for that straight up. We'd have to sweeten the pot imo. This is the same Giants team that got Beason from us for chicken scratch 7th rounder. They're look to win in the exchange.

Can anybody tell me why people love Nicks other than the fact UNC fans don't really understand football?

Going to have to disagree with you there. He may have gone to UNC, but I wear Panthers blue glasses. The guy would instantly be one of the top 3 receivers ever to put on a Panthers uniform. He may have an injury bug, but he is a baller when healthy.

Greg "4 Games without a Sack" Hardy? I sure as heck hope we're not moving money around specifically for him until he shows a little more consistency.

I do see us saving money for Cam and Luke extensions, sure.

No, it doesn't. We need OL help, not one injury prone 50+ million dollar WR.

He would help here tremendously. However, I would not overpay for him (which someone will) and he does appear to be injury prone. I'd rather give up a draft pick than Stewart for him.

Ok now I know you're trolling. Sacks aren't the only thing d-ends do. Hardy has gotten consistent pressure this year, and has definitely assisted on some sacks by other players by moving the qb around. Also he's stout against the run.

I'm not saying we should break the bank for him, but to not attempt to re-sign him is silly.

Do ballers score TD's? Cause I haven't seen him pull that off this year.
