Gettleman might have the same mindset as the NYG GM who is a big fan of moderately decent wr's and steady qb with a superior pass rush.

the move may happen because it's Gettleman's long term plan per the OP..

 

there are two things at play here for the fans to get. we are in an odd spot. we could make a move and get hot and make the playoffs. RR could still lose his job and you have a great core for the next guy and Andy Reid seemed to have done well.

 

or not make a move and get hot. or not make a move and not get hot.

 

or do any one of the combos and pick anywhere from 12-20 and still get a good OT.

 

so really there is a lot of flexible leverage at hand here. not sure which way is best tho.
