Jon Beason impresses in Giants debut

Did I say that? Beason was one of your better players. I remembered when he went down.

Also, just to correct your cheap shot, I actually pay more attention to this team than it seems some of you do. I look at the team as a whole, instead of in part. Maybe that is why in the minds of some of you, I sound like I'm always defending Cam. But that is okay, I have seen enough from the comments on the Huddle, that tells me the mindset that I am dealing with. :)

ppfffff..... you take into consideration the WHOLE team? like how you blame everyone around cam..

Jon Beason spent the most time out of any of our overpaid players off the field

If he felt like he was mistreated well, their patience is even shorter in NY so I wouldn't be surprised if they kicked him to the curb once they got better linebackers in about two years

exactly what i was thinking.. only a matter of time.. his flaws will show

I wasn't too fond of  Beason  ever since he pouted about being a Pro Bowl alternate.  He was a You of M guy who talked nicely on the radio about what he was going to do every Sunday and rarely did it...in fact in the last few seasons I had the same stats as he did in many games...since he was rarely on the field.  Let's see how long he stays on the field with the G men before we say how wrong we were in shipping him out.

Our FO does have a history, regardless of the GM, just like a team has history, regardless of the players. G-man didn't come here and clean house, and looking at our picks (or lack thereof), even though this chapter of our F.O.'s history may not be exactly the same as the last, the draft was not so dissimilar that we've seen a marked difference. In fact, in retrospect, I am a little bit disappointed that we forego many talented WRs (and TEs) for arguably a couple of projects (including a potential bust), and depth at positions where we already had serviceable depth).

Yeah I said it.  Star fell into our laps, so it's not like G-man did anything amazing. Yeah, he has made marked improvement on the accounting side, but personnel wise on the offensive side of the ball---line and skill players---has only been OK.

And, never forget: this is Jerry's team. If you don't know that by now, you better ask somebody.

ppfffff..... you take into consideration the WHOLE team? like how you blame everyone around cam..

So you want me to put the entire team lose on Cam because he got an Int when the rest of the team is dropping his balls? You want to say Cam has a problem reading the defense when it's clear that it's not true. You want me to say Cam is only locked in on one Receiver (Smitty) when many of you sit and bitch that Cam isn't using Smitty enough and he's the best WR, in our minds, on the team. FYI, many QBs have their favorite "go to" Recievers, not saying that Smitty is Cam's but why make a big deal over something that isn't out of the norm on other teams.

Sorry, but what I see with some of you is, every Sunday you sit and second guess your QB as if you're some experts, while playing down the mistakes or weaknesses of some of the other players, especially if they are your favorite. And sadly, you make  assumptions of why Cam is doing whatever you're accusing him of based on shallow observations. It then gets turn it into the discussion for the week where attention seeking Huddlers create endless threads question and assuming why Cam is doing what you believe he is doing.

IMO, I just think many of you like to sound like you know what the heck you're talking about and Cam is an easy target because he's the most scrutinized by the media.

And since this discussion is about Beason and not Cam, I will say that I am glad the Giants are using him right away. It shows he still believes he can help a team and the Giants are willing to give him a try.

This guy....

I mean if you consider multiple Pro-Bowls, being named an All-Pro and being made the highest paid middle linebacker in NFL history a lack of "grooming", then yea I guess that Carolina really failed him.

This response is such a typical Huddler's response who cannot seem to see outside of the Panthers' bubble. It's clear Beason proved his worth for him to not only accomplish what he did, but for the team to want to pay him so much. The question is, why didn't the team get some of their money back by using him. They offered him a nice contract in 2011. He gets injured the same season and the takes away his starting job the following season. He then gets replaced after two starts in 2013.

As I said before, here's hoping the Giants can really use Beason because it's clear the Panthers didn't know what the fug to do with him. SMH

As far as getting upset about it...fans here talk more crap about the organization than anyone. I think he has earned the right to be a little annoyed if he wants. Not that I agree with him but its understandable to a degree.

Not one of your greatest followers but I have to agree.  Whether he asked for a trade or not he had to be a bit shunned about losing his position due to an injury.  Kind of an unwritten rule.  Kuechly is a one in a lifetime type linebacker and Jon lost his position to a better player.

I could see the animosity from Jon.

I hope he does well and we get compensated based on his performance.

Does anyone know the criteria?
