Game 7: Carolina Hurricanes (2-2-2) vs. Chicago Blackhawks (3-1-1)

Recommended Posts

What: Carolina Hurricanes vs. Chicago Blackhawks
When 7:00 P.M.
Where: PNC Arena (Raleigh, North Carolina)

The Hurricanes are at home tonight facing the defending Stanley Cup Champions tonight. While Chicago has a great team, Carolina is 7-1-0 in their last eight games against defending Stanley Cup Champions.

The Hurricanes are currently second in the Metropolitan division (their current playoff matchup would be against the Islanders), and with only six games over the next 17 days (three over the next 12 days); every point is crucial to keeping one of the top three spots in the Metropolitan division.

As far as injuries go, Tim Gleason and Anton Khudobin should both be good to go in two to three weeks while Elias Lindholm is day-to-day and could return within the next three days.

The Canes will go with the following line-up tonight...

Alexander Semin - Eric Staal - Tuomo Ruutu
Nathan Gerbe - Jordan Staal - Jiri Tlusty
Jeff Skinner - Riley Nash - Patrick Dwyer
Drayson Bowman - Brett Sutter - Radek Dvorak

Justin Faulk - Andrej Sekera
Jay Harrison - Ryan Murphy
Ron Hainsey - Brett Bellemore

Cam Ward
Justin Peters

Scratches Kevin Westgarth, Mike Komisarek
Injured: Anton Khudobin, Elias Lindholm, Tim Gleason, Joni Pitkanen (season ending IR)

    • They got people like that but I mean, go back to the 1970s and you had the outlaw movement which was the same thing basically, a reaction against what at the time they called Countrypolitan - with strings and sweeteners and very narrow artistic type of value system.  The style of countrypolitan changes but the game remains.
    • The SEC were not having GT upset Georgia at home. Horrendously corrupt officiating in this game - the non-PI on 4th down and the non-targeting call on the King fumble. Good lord.
    • I like how they were about to punt the ball right before the two minute warning before being like... oh fug, this'll be too obvious we gotta try a FG then ole boy skulls one that never got more than about 12 feet off the ground. LOL!
