What Ram fans are saying

yeah, b/c it is lame.  Your offense can't run (unless you play horrible run defenses), you don't throw deep, and all you really do is dink and dunk to TEs and WRs.  That IS lame to watch for anyone outside of a Rams fan.

That probably is a nice out for you...then you don't have to  try to explain how Stacey is gonna run on us, how you are going to stop our run etc....

You claim such but nothing done on Sundays would back that.

WTF?  I claimed nothing.  Truth is, I, like you and every other "expert" on this interweb thingy, have no idea what game plan will take place on Sunday.  Could Fisher insist on using the heavy set and lining up multiple TEs in an attempt to pound the ball?  Sure.  Could he decide to spread it out and take advantage of your vulnerability to the short pass?  Of course.  Maybe he mixes up the 2, maybe we go full spread - no huddle.  Who knows?

Our issues stopping the run to this point in the season have been largely schematic and a lot of youth on the back end.  Will that be cleaned up on Sunday?  Again, no one knows but missing gap assignments against cutback runners has been our issue not being run over.  That's why I'll be watching the game.  Bottom line is your team doesn't scare me and I fully acknowledge that opinion, too, is worthless.

I think we match up well.  Whether you find the short passing game "lame" or "boring", well who gives a rip?  All I care about is the W and I think one by my Rams this Sunday is entirely within the realm of possibility -- unlike about 905 of your fellow huddlers.

Last week against pressure Sam was 8 - 8 with 3 TDs. I know he didn't throw for a lot of yards but 75% on completion with 3 TDs, 0 INTs and a 135+ passer rating isn't too bad of an outing. He did not need to throw much last week. I think you will see a different game plan this Sunday.

I did not realize that. When you say pressure do you mean when the pocket actually was collapsing or when the defense brought extra rushers on a blitz?

I didn't chart the games or anything, but it seemed to me

that when he started to feel pressure he will short hop some throws or overthrow a WR or he gets a little panicky.

I mean last week two of his TDs had very little pressure. Maybe I am mixing up the games, but one wasa play action pass to a wide open FB or TE from short yardage and the other short yardage TD came from a TE crossing underneath to the backside.

There wasn't a lot of pressure on either throw.

Maybe I am mixing the games up in my head though.

okay, I went back and looked.  I can't keep you Rams guys straight.  StonecoldTavon was the one making claims that were too bold...not you.

I think your pass attack matches up well.  I have said it since week 1 when I looked at the season.....worst matchups for our D were Buffalo, you guys, and the Pats.  All heavily emphasize the short pass attack.

I don't think you match up good defensively.  A primarly front 4 rush attack that can't stop the run....isn't what gives Newton issues.   If your short pass isn't clicking I am not sure what other option you have.

To be fair you are on a Panthers fan site so of course we are going to think that way, just like you Ram fans think you match up and have a good chance to win.

Not saying either one of us is right, but such is fandom.

Hou brought the blitz and it backfired.....but they brought it b/c up until that game Bradford was struggling with it

Wow that kind of makes it sound like your offense is capable of setting up any attack. Can you really say that? For your sake the Rams better exploit where we're weak and not try to be cute against this D. If you guys want to have a prayer of a chance against this team, that O needs to be setting us up for whatever they do best. That looks like running to me.

Youre going against one the nastiest front 7's in the league. Good luck on Sunday :)

I may be the problem here.  I was defining "pressure" as when the D rushed 5 or more, blitzing would have been a more accurate term.

You are spot on in your evaluation of the SF game.  It was a total disaster.  The good news is it forced our OC to become less one dimensional and the team has responded with 2 wins since.  You don't have to tell me who the opponents were but in spite of Houston's current woes on offense (largely created by playing against the NFCW) their D was and still is highly ranked in many categories.

I'm thinking/hoping our D is coming together under our new D coordinator.  We've got to get better in run D.  It's mostly a lack of gap discipline leading to big runs that have killed us, particularly against the cut back.
