Ok so he was pretty young during his Redskin stint; even right now he's only 26.  Nothing overly special those 2 years by any means and frustrated those fans but did in fact improve; he improved from (24/35 68.6%) to (31/41 75.6%).  

 

Now since we've had him, I've really seen no issues at all.  Long leg, looks more accurate.  Since joining he is 15/17 at 88% and he's been hitting some 50+

 

I say, if he keeps it up and seems consistent by years end with a high percentage, I think we may have a solid kicker on our hands.

He's got a lead foot for sure.  With kickers it always comes down to those clutch moments.  Hopefully he'll have some opportunities to prove himself.

I love the fact that he eliminates the kickoff return every time. Such a weapon putting our defense in good shape on every kickoff and eliminating the potential of a short field.

I've said it before. Kickers are like Goalies. They can have extremely poor seasons, then out of the blue be great. They can also be really great then suddenly suck.

Yeah, me too. But let's wait a year or two and see some more work and a consistent track record before we anoint him as our long term solution. His short term (and relatively light) work has been very encouraging though.
