PFF Grading: Panthers 2nd Overall On Season

from that link about the Giants Bears game

The three lowest graded players were Julius Peppers (-3.9), Shea McClellin (-3.1) and both Shaun Rogers and Antrel Rolle (-2.8)

A victory for father time? Peppers rushed the passer on 22 occasions but generated just one hurry.

buuahaha

You know what they say about Father Time... He's undefeated.  I do take some pleasure in watching Peppers struggle as much as don't want to.

But it happens to us all.  Even 89 has started to lose a little something.  He's still better than 85% of the WR in the league, but he isn't as explosive as he was even 2 years ago.  Still a starting caliber receiver, but he ain't the HR threat he used to be

I legitimately at times wonder how on board with the Star selection Ron was knowing it was going to possibly doom Sione's career. Given that Ron came out almost immediately and began alerting everybody that Star would be "starting" but playing an absurdly low amount of snaps for Ron's "rotation", I think it makes some sense.

You don't keep a blue chip prospect on the sideline to field a player who isn't good enough to even be worth a PS spot. Fua is one of the worst NFL players I have ever seen.

PFF graded Star lower than Fua vs. the Vikings. He's been quiet since the bye.

Frankly I don't care what PFF said but it's irrelevant all the same. You don't keep a top tier prospect like Star sidelined to give a player like Fua reps. Star will have his ups and downs as an exciting young rookie this year. Fua will consistently be terrible.

But I guess Ron has demonstrated that he prefers consistently terrible over inconsistent dominance.

Or, Star might be a little dinged up and needs the rest? Teams have been focusing on him hard since he started off like a madman.

nothing to suggest this

Except a snap count that has been cut by a third since Week 3. Star is a monster but he is not well developed as a pass rusher and teams have been chopping his knees. Rather than risk him on the passing downs that teams have been forced to play thanks to our defense, the coaches have sat him out. He'll be fine.
