Why The Carolina Panthers Will Win The Super Bowl

Also a big reason why they got there in 2003, why they got to the Championship game in 05 and why we made the playoffs last year, and why we will win it this year.

Dont kid yourself. Reason we got to the one in 2003 was our Defense. Reason we got to the Championship Game in 2005 was Smitty.

I had Season Tickets for the 1996 Broncos who went 13-3. I went to the 1st Playoff Game against Jacksonville after the Bye week Surprise we lost. Off Season no major changes just honed the team, the Veterans held everybody to a high standard to insure a different result next year.

Next year made it to the Super Bowl against Green Bay. Shanhahan told every player to give Green Bay their Props . . say Green Bay was the better team but then on Sunday go out and Prove that Denver was . . . Green Bay Partied . . .Denver lay in wait then beat them and their own history in the Super Bowl for the First Broncos Super Bowl Victory.

Anyway the Broncos finally got it going because of the running game Terrell Davis, Panther Have Double TRouble or maybe The Triple Tramplers. Elway only threw for 123 in that game. Jake did more than that in the 4th quarter against New England in the Super Bowl. Jake has played in 8 Playoff games with only 1 bad showing. Just because it is the most recent one many people can't see the forest because they are standing to close top one tree.

Try looking at that San Diego win where Delhomme threw to 5 receivers on that last drive without Steve Smith on the field. Without having a cohesive Oline yet or Double Trouble giving very much trouble yet. No play offs with out that win. Or Chicago the following week won that one with out Smitty but that was really Harris's win in my book check out the link. But they rallied around Jake for that win . . . leadship they cared enough about Jake to go get it

So many ways to win watch for Carolina in 09.

Dont kid yourself. Reason we got to the one in 2003 was our Defense. Reason we got to the Championship Game in 2005 was Smitty.

In 2003 in the regular season we gave up 19 points(10th) and 295 yards (8th). In the post season we gave up 338 yards (5th of 12) and 17 points (tied for second with Tennessee).

In the regular season our offense was ranked 16th in yards gained and 15th in points at 20.3. In the postseason we were 5th out of 12 increasing our yards per game from 321 to 377 and our points to 25.2 (4th).

So it was actually our defense playing well but our offense picked it up in the postseason which lead to the Superbowl.

In 2005 it was our third ranked defense (282 yards surrendered, 16.2 points allowed) that got us to the postseason with an efficient offense (25th in yards at 309, 8th in points at 24.4) that didn't produce a lot of yards but did produce points.

In the postseason our defense gave up 18.3 points (due to debacle in Seattle) and 269 yards per game. Our offense went slightly up in yards (327 yards) and down in points (22) But we all know that the defense was dominant against the Giants and Chicago (gave up points late) and we fell apart against Seattle.

So based on the facts you have it backwards. Our offense picking it up in the playoffs was the reason we made it to the Superbowl and Smitty made big plays to get us there. In 2005 the defense was dominant all year and the offense was efficient helped by good field position and plenty of turnovers. The offense was not great and frankly Smitty was the whole offense. But it was the defense that got us there and was dominant until Seattle.

If you think so. Jakes worse day 6 ints 5 that resulted in TD's, Lucas worse day giving up 2 TDs

Why does everyone forget the radio interview (from a few weeks after the Arizona game) that brought up us benching Jake during the bye weeks and before the Arizona game his elbow and arm were locked up and not loose.............His worst two games of the year, Oakland and Arizona came off of bye weeks in which the coaching staff benched delhomme and it caused his arm to lock up.

Why does everyone seem to forget that TJS takes two years to fully recover from and get your arm back to normal....

How can anyone blame that game completely on Jake, The game plan was weak, the defense played horrible. We went to a pass first offense almost as soon as we got down 7 points. (with a guy the coaching staff knew was having arm problems........) When the rushing attack was averaging over 5 yards a carry and had almost 100 yards off of 16 Carries.

As for the 2003 season, Does anyone remember the 7 game tying/ game winning fourth quarter drives that Delhomme had????? He had a few of those in 2005 as well.

Are you sure?

I could have sworn Smitty Blanked the NY Giants 23 - 0
