Oh, The Panthers got another cheap win over a another bad team.

Recommended Posts

Sooo I just have one question. How many of the naysayers actually thought we were going to win today? Okay so now you're saying we just beat a bad team? hm.

I picked them to win, it's a no-brainer.  If Rivera's on the hot seat and we play a bad team, the odds of us winning are better than they are of us losing late in a close game.

Next week should be pretty interesting, because it's hard to say if the Rams are good or bad.

So when we beat a subpar team it's a cheap win but when we lose to a bad team it's.... FIRE RIVERA, BENCH CAM, KILL SHULA, etc....

It's a can't win situation with the pessimistic bastards on this board.

Instead of being happy that the Panthers won, you sulk because of who we played.

I'm really happy with the win, and had a great time watching the game.  I sat down expecting to win.  As I posted, it's to be expected that we beat up on bad teams when Rivera's job is on the line.  And his job will be on the line for the rest of the season.

No one's sulking about the quality of our opponent.  If we could play our way to a 12-4 record on the backs of crappy teams, I would be plenty happy with that.  Having a schedule full of awful teams was the staple of the Patriot's success for several years, although the difference is that they managed to beat one or two quality opponents a year as well.  I would love to get to that point, so when Rivera starts winning close games I would appreciate you making a little room for me on the bandwagon.

Until then, I'm good just accepting the Panthers for who they are.  I've been fooled by this staff way too many times to buy in based on two victories against teams with a combined 1-10 record, no matter how convincing they were.

We have a pretty balanced schedule the rest of the way. We will probably have to beat a "tough" team (with a real QB) to make it into the playoffs while taking care of business like yesterday against the cupcakes.

Clarification

I'm not sitting here complaining about this win.

I'm simply refusing to get my hopes up about this season and I am stating the facts as to why. I've already seen this exact thing happen the last two games, a convincing win which gets me pumped, and a very deflating loss.

Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me kind of thing.

Perhaps I seem like pessimist and i regret the way i presented my arguments but again I simply am not convinced. When the pressure is on we choke. If we start winning close games consistently then i will be convinced.

I am not the pessimist this single thread suggests. Perhaps its the lack of sleep and an extremely stressful test i have to take in an hour is why my jabs at this win are so sharp. Forgive a fellow. didn't prelude and express the opinions

Very happy for the win, and hope the team can build off of it.

It was a great all around effort on the road in the NFL. Nothing to be ashamed, and definitely something to be proud of, no matter the Vikings record.

However, it's way too soon to be making grand proclamations on Rivera or the team turning the corner. The next two games will actually count, and I'm sure it will be reported that way. What will Ron Ron do (in the game) when feeling this pressure against a murky opponent in the Rams? Lol

I'll just take next week as it comes, while wishing for the best.

Go Panthers!!

It starts out like this...

You have to win the games against teams you're supposed to beat too and at the end of the day a W is a W, even if it comes against the Jaguars. Can we just be happy for once, or is that not OK?

and turns into something like this...

lol some will be emotionally raped again in a week.

everyone should enjoy the wins, as they may come few and far between.

While the Vikings defense is pretty bad, their offense had been putting points on the board this year.  They came into yesterday's game 3rd in the league in points per game with about 29.  Mainly due to Peterson running wild on people.  But we held them to 10(should have been 3, garbage time TD on backups), and we shut down the best RB in the league.  That's what people need to be taking from this.  We did what we were supposed to against their defense, and held a top 3 scoring offense to 10 points.
