just showing these guys some love, not sold on them yet

Got to give it up to Shula, did a damn good job calling plays today HOPEfully he can continue to be creative with our players and call a balanced attack while adjusting to our opponent

Not a big fan of Rivera but man has he gone full madden mode, dude doesn't hesitate to go for it on 4th and short. Glad he trust our O in these situations. If he can consistently keep it going like we hope, and hopefully he knows it's ok to punt sometimes.

I would give props to Shula for having some nice plays to call.  He still hasn't shown one iota of ability to adapt or adjust his gameplan accordingly.  It's easy to call a good game when everything is going right and the opposing defense isn't really able to keep up.  Days like today or vs the Giants make it easy for him to look good.  Days like today or vs the Giants are all about the talent on the field.  When there's a need for adjustment, like last week, and he's actually able to adjust his plan accordingly and we're successful then he'll get true praise.

Yeah, they both had a heck of a game today.

I wonder if you'd feel the same way if we had ended up losing by 2 points... After not taking the 3 pts on our opening possession.

I know that it worked out this week; BUT I think it's pretty reckless to go for it twice on the opening drive. I like the confidence, and the fact that it worked out. Just imagine the fallout had it not worked out in our favor and those points would have been needed later in the game.

I'm obviously greatful and happy for the win today, but I hope he picks his spots on when to go and when to take the points moving fwd.

That early in a game, those 3 little points aren't going to be the deciding factor later on.  Even if we failed one of those 4th down attempts, and ended up losing by 2, it wouldn't have been going for it on our first drive of the game that lost the game.  There was roughly 50 more minutes left in the game to win it and the score was still tied at 0. Getting 3 points there or not getting 3 points affects how the rest of the game goes.  If we failed and got 0 points out of our first drive, it could have been a catalyst to go into aggressive mode causing us to win by 50 because we missed an opportunity for points on the first drive and they think we're going to need as many points as possible.  Maybe if we just took the 3 and went to halftime with a 6-3 lead, old Ron would rear it's ugly head and we'd play conservatively trying to protect that one score lead and it'd bite us in the ass in the end as it has like 14 other times during Ron's tenure here.

Moral of the story, in my opinion it's the right call to go for it on 4th and short when you have a QB like Cam and RBs like ours more often than it's not.

Does Shula deserve credit for doing what he should have been doing all along? Oh, and quit being cute. I'm sorry but this still feels like Chud 2.0. It blows my mind that they never thought about giving Cam a check down option, rather than worry about having blockers. He didn't have the option prior, and he did today. Result? 20-26 and 3 TD. This can work against everybody.

Yea, the biggest improvement in the game plan itself, and what Shula deserves credit for, is including plays with checkdowns and for using more screens.  We usually have very good success in those situations and why he stopped using those two types of plays I'll never understand.

we should always go for it on 4th and short if we are deep or middle on the opp side of the field (considering its not late and we actually need 3 to tie or take the lead)

even if we fail we should have a D that can stop the other team from getting 40 yards in scoring range.

its called having confidence in your play calling and team.
