RG3 is fragile and sucks

At this stage, RG3 is not a pocket QB.

He's needs motion, trickery, short throws and a strong run game in order to be successful.

This was clear from last year. Kaep is basically the same in a slightly lesser degree.

You are right, at this stage he isn't very effective as a pure pocket passer. But I think he will be fine, but he needs work.

I haven't seen RG have a good game once this season.

Manning, Brady, Marino....

Which Manning? Not Peyton. His first three season wasn't that much different than Cam's. Brady didn't come right of college and started throwing perfect balls. As a matter of fact Brady came of the bench.

The difference between the three qbs u mentioned and Cam is called lack of endless scrutiny and allowing them to become the QBs they r today. Something many, including the Cam haters on this site refuse to do.

Um... The Colts were 13-3 Peyton's 2nd season

Brady was winning Super Bowls

No, just no. Put Wilson on Carolina and they wouldn't win more than 3-4 games.

He is the same dude that played at NCSU & Wisconsin. Smart, mobile player but nothing special. Above average. Will never be a star but can last in the league and win with the proper team around him.

He puts up the same game manager numbers he did in college. The reason he wasn't hyped then is because he played for shitty teams instead of Alabama.

ok cool

you guys realize brandon weeden threw for more yards than wilson did in 2012 right? he's a game-manager, a very good one ill say, but lets be real hes in one of the most ideal situations in the league

There are a lot of Pecker grads on this forum who unconditionally love the QB who ditched them.

Wilson is good but put him on almost any other team and he is an afterthought.

Name a qb who was/is a perfect pocket passer in the NFL

right out of college? The stuff some of u say is ridiculous and pure fantasy.

I seriously can't get

Are you seriously trying to claim that Newton and/or RG3 were as polished as a pocket passer as the likes of Manning, etc.  If so, you're an idiot.  I'm as big of a Cam fan as you'll find here, but he was not a polished pocket passer coming out of college.  The improvements he's made in that area are astounding.

He is smart and makes "oh snap" plays. He is already a star IMHO......Plus his jersey looks awesome.....jus sayin....it helps.

Yes, the COLTS, not just Peyton. Sadly, with this Panthers, it's really all on Cam. That is the sad reality most of you don't want to admit.

And as far as Brady is concerned, it was the Patroits' Defense who gave him his first SB ring. Even the NFLN Analysts Eric D. pointed that out this morning when they were raining down endless praises on Brady.

Why can't we honestly put things into perspective?  Is it because Cam is a QB some of you don't want under center, for whatever reason?

No!! I said name me a QB who was a polished pocket passer right out of college?

BTW, wasn't Clausen a pocker-passing QB in college? Just asking.

Everyone was saying that the read option QB's (RGII, Kaep, and Cam were going to transform the NFL.  Fact is that this is just not going to happen.  You are seeing defenses adapt and take away their perceived strengths.  Bottom line is that a QB will earn their stripes IN the pocket.

I think that Cam has the most potential out of the three in this area.  He has a cannon for an arm and just needs to continue to refine his mechanics.  This is why I believe Shula and Rivera are changed things up this season and is forcing Cam to be in the pocket more.....it will pay off in the long run for him.

Here is the quote from Rivera that I was most excited about from yesterday.....talking about Cam.

"His focus and attention to detail on things all week, I think it's all part of the process of him developing. He understands it, and he's going to continue to work at it," coach Ron Rivera said.

It is the little things and laser focus by a QB (being a film rat and refining their craft) that is the most important.  If Cam saw these small things and worked to correct them over the course of the week....then went out and lit it up Sunday.  That bodes very well for his future and truly tells us that he "gets it".....that his athletic ability will only take him so far as a QB.

Athletes playing QB in the nfl (Akili Smith, Vince Young, Eric Couch, etc) are flashes in the pan.  But, pocket QB's that have the ability to make plays with their legs (Steve Young, Aaron Rodgers, and even McNabb) will rack up a long career with a lot of wins.
