Should trading Hardy be considered?

We can't afford another Charles Johnson contract. Its a problem we are living with our running backs. If can't agree on a contract then get what we can for him. We got nothing for Peppers because Hurnia made poor decisions. Gettleman is smart and will get the most value for him or offer him something he can't refuse.

Hardy is overrated. Didn't do poo today. And is such a loser he wouldn't comment on being manhandled by Ryan's little bro.

 

Ryans little bro has mandhandled just about every DE he's faced since entering the league. Matt Kalil is getting close to Joe Thomas territory already. That said, Hardy did generate pressures yesterday just couldn't finish plays....

Didn't CJ recently restructure which increased his cap hit for next year?

 

Even if Hardy signs a big deal, it will be structured so the cap hit isn't so bad in year 1.  The bigger question is what will be done with CJ?  They already restructured him once and his cap figure for 2014 is BIG.  I hope he remains a Panther but it may be too much $$.

Exactly. There is no one, Smitty, Cam, and Luke included, that is beyond being traded . . . FOR THE RIGHT PRICE. Granted no team would ever give what it would take for me to give up Luke. Smitty would retire before being traded. Cam, honestly at this point, I would entertain more offers than most of you would. But that's just my opinion.

Highly doubtful that we would get much for Hardy unless he had worked out an extension with the next team before the trade happened.

Most likely, you play him this year, and he walks after the season is over and we get a comp pick.

Hardy got pressure on the plays Fua was getting pushed back so Matt was easily able to step up in the pocket.  Seriously, Fua is the worst Panther player that repeatedly gets playing time.  Hopefully we get Dwan back soon.

you dont trade a keystone to a defense this good, especially where we have to kinda hide the secondary.  if he walks, he walks but you try to keep him unless the season is over then you maybe get a pick for him.  we got 5 days to make a trade happen, i'd be very surprised if he gets dealt.

I like Hardy. The only problem is our salary cap situation and Hardy knows that. If he isn't willing to help is team, then yes we should at least see what we can get for him.

I agree. He knows the situation at hand and its a big compliment to be offered anything by Gettleman, considering Gettlemans new and has no ties to Hardy. Not to mention the cap mess we're dealing with.

I don't know if he's truly been offered anything, but if he was and he turned it down then he's not the right fit for this team at this time.

Trading Hardy is  a stupid idea. We have one of the best front 7's in football and you guys already want to act like arm chair GM genuises and trade arguably our best defensive end. I hate you.

There is little difference between saying somebody is untradable and saying someone is tradeable but for a prohibitive amount of compensation. For example, saying you would trade cam but for no less than first round picks the next three years, a second round pick, and two starters.

Depends on what we really think it will take to re-sign him. I would not break the bank on him.

If I knew Nicks could stay healthy then Hardy for Nicks would help us much more than trying to sign Hardy to a long-term deal where he's probably going to get overpaid.
