Robert Griffin just got called out by Chris Collingsworth during the Sunday night game as a 'one read' (Collingsworth actually said "one look") Quarterback. 

 

He stated "the cowboys want him to throw to someone other than his first receiver". He also focused all game, on how 'the Redskins offense is predicated on all those fakes, read option and run game'. 

 

Ahh, how come these braniacs didn't notice, say these things last year. 

 

And despite Kaep and RG3 being one read QB's, you still many Huddler's killing Cam (though he's not), and comparing him to these nitwits, stating 'they're more developed QB's'. SMH 

 

It just goes to show, how much play calling and good coaching effects a QB's wins, stats and reputation.

Not a hater, but I am critical of his play and you should be too until he is consistent.  3rd years are not about potential. He had some very good moments and I keep praying that he is turning the corner.   This game was nice, but when he starts winning the close ones, I will celebrate the removal of my skepticism. 

 

Heck, Vince Young had good games.  We need a good season. 

 

I will say that he is making Ted Ginn into a player. 

 

And I will say that it makes a huge difference when your WRs not only catch the easy ones, but they grab one nobody expected to be caught.  Smitty's slant was awesome.

So did i just read the jury is still out whether cam is a bust or not? wow worst post of the year, this is off the top of my head but 21td 17int first year, 19td 10ints second year, and he looks to improve on that this year and that is bust worthy......gtfo. So u're basically saying Cam better take my pathetic team to some level of consistency or he's not a good qb. It's all about Cam carry this team no matter how much they suck.

Cam played great on the road, and we won. I can live with that.

We continue to show we can move the ball on anyone. Today we got points out of the deal. Great job.

Very few penalties, bad plays, and no WTF? moments. And we won handily. Coinky dinky? I think not.

The team that won today is the team most fans expected all along. Very good D, and and O that can be productive. When we play like that, we are a good team. When we don't, well...we stink. That is the main concern of most fans. The inconsistency.

Fix the inconsistencies, and those pesky WTF? moments, and this team can compete. My giddy can live with that.

What I want from Newton honestly is what I want from the offense in general, consistency.

 

Sometimes they look like they can beat everybody.  Sometimes they look like they can't beat anybody.

 

Gimme some consistency from week to week and I'll be happy.  I don't feel like I'm asking too much in this.

One week, it is worship the QB and even his shoes.

Next week, it is destroy the QB, the coaches, the defense, OLine, Steve Smith, etc.

 

Cam had a great game today.  The team was able to run the ball, which I repeatedly mentioned at the outset of the season as the key to wins.  If the Oline could produce 100 yds or so of a ground game, without Cams running included, we could have success. 

 

Sadly, we have done this only twice, want to guess which games?

 

As has been mentioned, we are the Jeckyl and Hydes of the NFL.  One week Cam is horrible, the next week he plays error free.  Luckily, yesterday was the latter.  Except for the first throw of the game which hit a Viking right in the chest, the rest of the game was very well played.  He had a decent pocket presence and moved out before it collapsed.  No fumbles, no interceptions and he used his size and speed to escape and pick up a could of first downs.

 

If, and this is a big if, he could play within himself like this each week, we could make the playoffs. 

 

Each week, sadly, the headlines to the Huddle swing wildly from chaos to euphoria, which is indicative of Cam and the teams play.  Once, we have 4-6 weeks in a row of the euporic headlines, then we can consider us a playoff team and Cam a franchise QB.  Nobody in their right mind, except Hurney, would pay a guy big bucks to be .500 year after year.  That said, I would like nothing better than to see this type of headline for the next 6 weeks.  Maybe then I would be convinced.

 

Still not convinced Rivera is the right guy for the job either.

Yes.  That is what I am saying.  That is what the great QBs do.  They do not collapse in the 4th quarter. 

 

If we are so bad, then how is it that this team LOST leads in the 4th quarter 14 times since he has been here (38% of his games) in games decided by a TD or less. To compare, we won 5.4% of those games.   How did a bad team have a 4th quarter lead to lose?  All the team can do is put the QB in a position to win a game.  When we have done that, Cam has sucked.  His 4th quarter QB rating is in the bottom third--nearly 30 points lower than his unimpressive career rating of about 85.  If he is such a leader and a gamer, why the drop off?  Is that when the OL and WRs start sucking?

So get off the "this team is so bad and nobody is helping Cam" crap.  Every team has weaknesses.  Good QBs and leaders win despite these weaknesses.
