"Could Dave Gettleman's plans for the Panthers future not include Cam Newton"

No. Not one of the first.

Reality is the average career is 3 yrs. You don't hire a GM based on if he likes 1 player. It probably came up but so did lots of questions.

No way that wasn't a top question. He's our franchise player. Just like Luke is becoming.

What exactly are you getting at with the three year average statement?

Well I disagree. Average career in the NFL is 3 years. Cam could have a career ending injury tomorrow.

It was pretty clear to me....DG wasn't all about Newton from the jump. People called me crazy. Now people are starting to realize the signs.

If you are all about Newton is your future....you don't allow your OL to look like ours entering year 3. DG sat on his hands. He could of improved our right side staters and improved depth....plenty of resources to do that. Didn't need pro bowlers.

Weak OL and weak WRs = get your QB killed and make him look bad. That is the formula for getting rid of a QB.

Gettlemen doesn't want a quirky innovative offense. THAT is Newton. He will feed bs about how he thinks Newton can fit his ideal old bs offense....that is just lip service. Newton isn't that and if that is your goal you don't deserve the right to waste his potential. Maybe Newton can't reach his potential.....it will be sad for the sport if no one allows for it.

3 year window is a breakdown of simply what has occurred with new HCs in the NFL.

I'll do a new one soon. New HCs get new QBs within their first 3 seasons. Recent exceptions have rings. Just the way it is. Could there be an exception? Sure. Simply pointing out that is you are ringless....it has been bad news

Injuries can happen to any player. It's a part of the sport.

You're really really reaching here, and spinning things to fit your own argument.

If Gettleman really did sabotage his own QB then he can say adios to his credibility and should be fired on the spot.

Did the Bears get rid of Cutler when they hired Tressman? Did the Chargers get rid of Rivers when they hired McCoy?

You're being absurd.

That would be the teams record. You know what team means, correct?

So are all those other stats. Unless Cam blocked the defense, caught the passes, and ran all by himself and I just missed it.

You dont take a qb #1 overall have him pass for the most yards in the history of the nfl his first two seasons then turn around and hire a new gm that isnt "all about it" because he isnt sure if that qb can pass...what kind of logic is that?

Also, don't forget Newton doesn't fall into the old #1 pick handicap. He didn't come with a Sam Bradford type investment.

If Cam continues to play like how he's been playing, I guarantee Cam wont be the long term answer. Nothing but the truth.

Nah you wont be able to tell if hes the long term answer until his offensive teammates play better or we give him more weapons ill say it again we have close to 90 million dollars invested into our rbs a 34 year old wr thats way passed his prime as your best wr and you expect your young qb to improve in the passing game????
