The North Carolina Highway Patrol is responding to a video caught by ABC's "20/20" showing state troopers in Raleigh dangerously speeding.

They said none of these incidents was during an emergency.

ABC clocked one of the police cruisers going 80 mph headed to a Dunkin' Donuts.

Yea it's not like they train to drive at high speeds or anything

they train in a controlled environment.

they do not simulate panicked motorists who become unpredictable to see a speeding patrol car closing in fast.

I would post a dashcam video of a cop doing this very thing and for a split second you see what looks like an 8 year old boy on a bicycle disappear under the front of the car, but nobody wants to see that.

My employer issued me a company vehicle since I travel quite often. It has GPS & a video recorder, so I have to drive extra cautiously.

Admittedly, I'm not the greatest of drivers as far as safety goes. But driving carefully in a company people and paying more attention to those around me now is down right scary. Most people are horrible, horrible drivers. Speeding, tailgating, swerving through traffic, & every other person is paying more attention to the phone in their hand than anything else.

And it's funny. I'll be doing 70 on the highway and some jackass will ride up behind me right under my bumper, swerve around me, and continue weaving through traffic doing 90mph, easily. Then 5 or so miles later, I get off the interstate, go through a few traffic lights, and pull up beside the same vehicle at a light. He's texting away on his phone, and as soon as the light turns green he speeds off again, weaving through traffic dangerously.

I read a study that said the average American commutes 40 miles per day. They conducted a large experiment and said speeding and maneuvering through traffic shaved approximately 13 seconds off your daily route.

Well they're trained with the use of firearms as well..and we see how well that translates.

If I recall correctly a Charlotte woman in her 20's was killed a few years back because a dumbass pig was flying through an intersection and T-bones her...but its cool right, I mean he was trained to drive at high speeds.
