Good news for him, but unfortunately someone's baby is lying in the hospital.

Good luck to the guy who did it in jail....inmates don't take kindly to child abusers.

yea i didn't mean it was any less significant. just pointing that out because everyone though it was his baby

I think I speak for all the Fathers on here.  There is nothing that would make me capable of murder other than someone harming my children.  It makes my blood boil to even read something like this.

My wife and I just discussed of this.  I went ahead and told her that if something like this were to ever happen just prepare for the fact that I will be in jail.  Murder doesn't even begin to describe the things i would be capable of in that scenario.

Media reporting speculations as usual...gotta be the first to get the story out no matter how inaccurate. It's a shame but I actually trust TMZ more than most when it comes to breaking news.

I kid you not, when I was driving home from work yesterday the lead story was "Adrian Peterson leaves team for personal reasons and spotted hanging out in a bar in South Dakota". Turns out AD was just eating a turkey sammich at a bar and gril but that's not how they were spinning it.

its been confirmed it's not AP's child

Whether or not, still an absolute nightmare of a story.  I work as a director at an ABC affiliate in Louisiana, and typically, on a daily basis, we'll report on some pretty messed up stuff.  You tend to ignore and can make jokes about pretty serious stuff considering you hear about it every day and unlike others in some different professions, you don't have the option to just "not watch".  With that said, stories like this are the ones that infuriate everyone associated.  Single most upsetting story we've ever ran I believe was a man who was was dating a woman with a 7 yr old handicapped boy with Cerebal Palsy.  She left him alone to watch her son when she went to work, and in his own words "he was tired of taking care of the child" so he bludgeoned him to death, cut off his hands and feet, then decapitated him and left his head at the side of the road so the mother would see it when she returned home from work.  In the case of that guy, the only thing that really upsets me is that POS can only die once.  I remember doing breaking news on that story that night, and its one of the few times that I've been in the director chair and actually felt speechless.

It is good that his celebrity status brings to light this kind of tragedy. The problem is that it happens in all of our communities way too often.  I deal with these kind of situations way too often. Every day in the US there are over 35000 people housed in domestic shelter programs with likely 4 or 5 times that not being reported or seeking help.  between 1981 and 1998 over 300,000 fatalities were attributed to domestic violence.  Those were fatalities not people beaten or abused which ranged in the millions.  It is estimated that 1 in every 3 women experience a physical assault at the hand of an intimate partner during their adulthood.  IN 1992 the supreme court acknowledged that 4 million woman a year are severely physically assaulted each year.

As for children, child abuse is reported every 10 seconds in the US.  (3.6 million cases every year, with number of children being 6 million). 5 or 6 children die every day due to child abuse.  (1537 in 2010)  79% were under the age of 4 and almost 50% were under the age of 1. 1 out of every 3 girls and 1 out of every 5 boys will be sexually abused before they reach 18.

And the numbers are rising.  I feel for AP but until this kind of publicity garners support for programs and education which are actually being cut and everyone knows that this is an epidemic, we will only hear about sensationalized cases instead of hearing about this in your community or on your street.  Truth is each of you feel outraged and upset when you read it but given the numbers you each have someone in your extended familes who is being abused.  Surely your children are sitting in school with other children who are being physically or sexually abused  and each of you likely talk to someone at church or work who is either a victim or perpetrator.  They are on your street or in your neighborhood and we either aren't aware of  or minimize the signs for whatever reason.
