Heart-breaking story involving AP

I don't see how this matters. All we know for certain is that a young child lost his life in a tragic fashion. Football plays no role in that. That young child probably had no understanding of the game, Most indications I've seen insinuate AP only recently learned this child was his, yet disappeared from practice upon hearing of this incident in order to be there. I haven't seen anything yet to indicate that he's anything less than a decent guy caught in an awful tragedy. Attacking him over this makes me ashamed to be a Panthers fan. Unfortunately, given the actions of our fans in recent years, there's more to be ashamed of that proud of.

Check out the link and watch the video. Sad stuff, sheds some more light into the situation.

Apparently AP only found out that this was his kid just a few months ago. Craziness! The whole ordeal is just tragic.

The video is short and is worth the watch.

I can't believe the dude had been convicted of child abuse before... Man, I'd give just about anything to be able to be in that guys cell for about 2 min...

He only found out about the kid a few months ago, and only "met" the kid when he was in the ICU.

Nothing changes the fact that the killer is the scum of the earth, and a child is gone, but Peterson should really use his position in society, and his financial situation to become a serious advocate for children.

The fact that this asshole had a history of abusing both women and children is pretty infuriating, and proof of what we all know:  the idea that the system rehabilitates criminals is absolute horseshit.  Most of the time, jail is just a timeout, and people leave it the same way they entered it.

Hopefully Patterson never has a remotely enjoyable day for the rest of his pathetic existence.

Ugh :(

You have a son you don't know about, and the first time you see him you're looking at his infant body in an ICU with doctors telling you he's unlikely to make it.

Why? Because the mom was keeping company with a POS guy you'd love to knock through a wall (and probably could) but it's a bit late for that now.

Horrible story all around.

No doubt it is a horrible story all the way around.

Reports are Peterson knew about the kid. He just disputed it was his...

I am sure this is a very hard time for AD. Tragic event and like anyone I am sure are chances to second guess decisions. I don't think that makes him evil or bad....

There is only one person in this story I'm willing to call 'evil'.

And even there, I'm not sure if he's even smart enough to be called that.

It might be more accurate to say he's just criminally stupid, not that it lessens what he did.  The act was definitely evil.
