If "best defense" is the team that gives up the fewest yards, even though we have played one less game than most teams. Sure, we are the best.

The top 4 teams on that list have a combined 3-15 record.

Yep! As I said, opposing teams will do just enough to win. Example the Seattle game, after the fumble with 5 mins to go, they bleed down the clock without scoring. Our "best" defense could not get us the ball back. Against the Bills, we let the rookie QB march all the way down the field. Giants game, psssst, that's an aberration.

I was looking at that same list (some guy posted it on the panthers facebook feed or something). Of course stats per game are what we need to look at. In ppg, the most important defensive stat, we're #3. In rush yards pg we're #7, pass ypg we're #8 and total ypg we're #3. I'd say that's pretty damn good especially considering our anonymous secondary.

Top 10 in every major category and #3 in both of the most important ones.

Honestly, at this point, this is how I feel about the whole team, Cam, offense, coaches etc;

The Cowboys will get the lowest of the three picks. The Chiefs will get the higher of the Cardinals or Panthers. The Panthers will retain the one in the middle.)
