Cam dissapoints in first quarter of season- NFL article

He had a great season for a rookie, although we are seeing more and more QB's come into the NFL ready to play.

HE took our offense from last to 5th??? I though this was team game and that the reason Newton was struggling was due to the poor play of his teammates and to the utter incompetence of his coaches. I think I get it now, if Cam wins it is because of Cam. If Cam loses it is because of others.

The laughable thing about your argument is that you are talking about two years ago...you are really talking about the first 4 games of two years ago.

Incidentally, Rob Cudzinski had a hand in Newton's success, as well as the players around him. Last year as well as his rookie year.

I thoroughly believe Carolina has gone to this offense for a couple of reasons...and one of those reasons is to find out what they really have in Cam Newton. Is he a "franchise QB"??? Or not??? He has 12 games left this year to answer the question.

Did you see what essentially the same TEAM was with Clausen the year before? What changed from then? The common denominator was the QB position and hence that conclusion.

I thought you said he was not producing? Why are you running from your argument? He threw all his TDs and yds in the first 4 games? Dude, you can surely do better than that. I think you are grasping for straws now LOL.

LOL...I am grasping at straws??? You are talking about 2 years ago.

Cam Newton is 25th in the NFL in passing.

Carolina is 30th in the NFL in passing....and 7th in rushing.

Cam Newton is not producing.

You can try to blame who ever you need to, but the NFL is, and will always be, a bottom line league.

so if you want to use stats out of context, if Cam is such an awful passer, how'd he get to 8000 yards passing so quickly?  How did he light up defenses for the last 2 years?

Dude, it's 4 games into the season, with an offensive line ranked 31st in pass blocking. How do you think any QB would do with such an o-line? Have you ever heard of cause and effect?

One metric has Carolina at 31st...based almost completely on sacks allowed. Two others have Carolina as slightly below average in terms of pass blocking. Plenty of QB's have succeeded with worse. Plenty. Carolina will only finish the season ranked 31st in pass blocking by any metric if Newton continues to lock on to receivers and clutch the ball, refuse to throw it away and refuse or be incapable of checking off to quick hitting plays that any QB should when he recognizes the blitz.

Loyal Cam Newton apologists have to be running out of patience. The Panthers didn't do a good job putting a proper offense around the quarterback in the offseason, but Newton -- now in his third season -- continues to be an enigma. Accuracy remains an issue, and his 79.2 passer rating ranks him directly beneath rookies Geno Smith and EJ Manuel. Newton is supposed to be lifting the Panthers. Instead, he played down to his team's mediocre level.

I guess the but part is more important in team success.

Ok dipshit here's your chance. Show us proof of Cam not hitting a hot route (where he had time) in the Zona Game.

Some people here have actually shown proof of plays where Cam didn't have a chance based on play design.

Maybe 1 of you trolls can do the same.
