Panthers sign WR Marvin McNutt

Mr. Scot

Too bad we're not like the Falcons, eh? They're making a bold move and replacing Julio Jones with Brian Robiskie!

Man, how come we never go after quality talent like that? Our GM must suck

Robiskie is a beast! I threw him a 76 yard TD pass last night, dude smoked em! Haha!

Yeah, I'm not sure why we don't just sign one of the dozen or so young All Pro receivers that are just sitting at home right now waiting for a chance to play for league minimum.

Or why don't we just trade our 5th round pick for Calvin Johnson or something? Who cares about draft picks anyway?

I swear, it's like they're not even trying

They said they signed him to take a look at him. How are they going to do that? Because he won't see the field. So what you have is another wr that looks good practicing. Instead of focusing attention on fixing that shitty oline

Just because you don't believe that Josh Gordon is worth a high draft pick, doesn't mean everyone doesn't. I love how your tone just oozes of incredulity, but Gordon does make sense on many levels. Of course it doesn't on many levels also, but that doesn't mean that it ultimately wouldn't make sense, or couldn't turn out wonderfully. Of course a second round pick is a "big risk", but perhaps we could talk them into a third (and throw in a McNutt or something).

As you probably know from my many posts, I also wouldn't mind renting Britt for the remainder of the season just to see what he's got, though I am not nearly as excited with this prospect (perhaps slightly above neutral). Due to Britt's current status in the Mike Munchak's doghouse (which is not 100 percent Britt's fault), I read just yesterday that the Titans will probably take anything for him. Again, just because you don't believe that a move like this makes sense, doesn't mean that it is fodder for sarcasm.

As you also know, I would have offered something for Denarius Moore at the time, but now Oakland may not be selling due to Moore's current production (and now that Moore has shown Dennis Allen that he is not some scrub to be taken lightly), but, yes, I would definitely be willing to deal a "high" draft pick for him.

In the case of Moore and Gordon, I said these things before their stock went higher, but now it's a little too late to be proactive. Basically, you have to give something to get something, and I don't mind spending a pick on a player that I know can play on an NFL level, as compared to a prospect that I perceive can play on an NFL level (particularly a high pick at the position of WR which can easily bust). It's just a matter of philosophy that certainly doesn't merit incredulity.

As to trade specifics, I'll leave that up to the GM. Likewise, the scouring of the bottom of the barrel for Free Agent "gems".

Don't worry we need those two picks next year to draft two cbs back to back. Got to build that defense
